Miss schwab never fails to deliver. I’m a huge fan of shades of magic and I never thought it could ever get better but oh lord this book is a masterpiece, a league of its own. I absolutely enjoyed and loved the new characters and was once again an anxious ball hoping they do not MESS things up. The story unfolds beautifully, picks up near the end but I dont mind, I enjoy that plenty. Tes is a new favourite character of mine and I’m obsessed with this new addition to the story.

I will be nice and behave well in this review <3
I genuinely hoped for more and better but thankfully I was not expecting it so I managed to avoid the disappointment. I absolutely love the characters tho their characterisation is nothing new and felt like something the author has done before. There was 1% plot and 99% sex :) its to be expected in a dark romance so..  there was alot more that the author couldve done and explored for and with the characters but once again she did not. You’d think after writing 30 books her writing skills would improve but they remain unchanged and as cringe as they ever were like this whole “I’m not like others, I’m fucked up” thing is kinda getting boring and repetitive at this point not to mention the dumb conversations that make me cringe so hard like why are 20 yr olds and their parents bantering and coming up with cringe ass year 6 come backs? Anyway, I loved the characters even tho I hoped for more I still enjoyed them and their dynamic and would read more books about them. There’s a couple mentioned that I would LOVE if they got their own book (also mlm) but I know its not happening so we move. Absolutely hated nikolai’s inner monologue like its by far the worst in the series. It felt like looking into the mind of a 10yr old. It was just so immature, childish and stupid. What I did love the most is Lan & Bran’s relationship and how it mended. Seeing that side of both of them was just so heartwarming and adorable.

I’ll try to be as nice as I can be and make this short

The writing is awful
The plot is VERY predictable
The characters are disgusting(thats the point of the story)
I would watch this as a show but wouldnt read it
It was just not an interesting thriller and honestly I wouldnt recommend it to anyone
