the way i adore skylar. my girl only wanted to be loved and seen for more than a marionette for the spotlight. she found her place is rose hill and fit in so much that the townspeople could care less of her status. i also loved how she never pulled status or wealth at any time.
and weston fucking belmont. nothing appropriate to say. nada. sunshine single dad with a mouth on him is all that needs to be said. and that’s all that will be said. and his kids, ollie and emmy?? ADORED them omg it’s always the children for meeeee.
but again, miss silver did not disappoint. she can do no wrong in my eyes.

i won't lie, i was between a 3.5 and 3.75 (leaning more towards 3.75) for this one, but i cried, so therefore, it got bumped up. i have very mixed emotions with this one. i loved it, i did. but not as much as the previous three books. i also have very mixed emotions with the relationship between alpha and zephyr—i felt like it was forced, which it was lowkey—but i digress. maybe i need to process more, but all i have to say is that my emotions for this one is mixed.

"i think—you're both my random and my treasure at the end of it. and nothing will ever compare."
how i feel about zephyr de la vega is iffy. i liked her as a person in some aspects—for example, how she helped those women with finding themselves again with new hairstyles, and how she was with her sister, and how she lived in her body and accepted herself (when the voices didn't get to her of course), but how she was with alpha, especially in the beginning, i needed her to take several seats. i don't know what it was, but i needed her to take a chill pill and just accept the fact that alpha did not remember her. i understand it hurt, but damn girl, it's been what, a decade?? then especially after amara told her not to push him to remember because it might trigger a bad response, i hated how she threw the fact that he didn't remember her in his face that one time, and then played victim after. like miss girl, let's be so astronomically for real. but anyways, i enjoyed her character, and how, i guess, she finally accepted the fact that he didn't remember her from ten years ago.

lowkey, i'm a sucker for the alessandro 'alpha' villanova. i don't know what it is about that man, but i'm definitely a sucker for him. the only thing i will probably say about him, though, is that i wish he did a little more in the groveling department, and i lowkey wished there was more about his past, like him remembering bits and pieces—i think that would have added to his character and development really well, but nonetheless, i loved him a lot (tristan and dante still have my heart though)

i wish i could've rated this higher (and i might eventually, who knows lmao), but i just needed more tristan/morana crossovers. because where was the friendship between amara and morana? between amara and tristan? between dante and tristan? dante and amara??? i just needed more. i just feel as though all of that was overlooked, and yes, this is dante and amara's story, but their relationships with tristan and morana are so important to their stories, individually, and together, that to have so much less of that in this than in the predator & the reaper just doesn't make sense to me. other than that, however, i had the tiiiime of my life reading this one 🤭
i'm not usually one for the friends to lovers trope, but something about when there is trauma mixed in with their friendship just does it for me every single time, mhm!

oh amara, the things my girl went through—she didn't deserve any of it! the most precious soul entangled in the dark mafia world. my girl is the most resilient of them all, and despite all she went through, she bloomed to be so strong, so fierce, i love her with all my heart. not to mention, my girl is educated through and through—miss girl went all the way to getting her doctorate, like slay queen 😛 the way she loved dante, and the way she waited for him? stronger than me, i'll tell you that, because waiting 7+ years for a manthat was Jesus Christ himself??? chile, don't think i would've survived that one lmfao

my man, dante maroni (though he cannot top tristan caine, i'm sorry), he is, however, the perfect man, through and through. this man protected amara, cared for amara, fought for amara, and loved amara like the gentle giant he is, and you mean to tell me, that he's leader of his mafia family, and ruthlessly unalives people who wrong him???? the best combination, mhm! dante maroni had me giggling and kicking my feet so bad, omg i love him so much, his character is one for the books! this man called amara the queen on his chess board because without her, there is no him. my oh my, i'm entirely done for 😩
this series is truly consuming me, and i wouldn't want to have it any other way! onto the next! the finisher!

oh, this book had me in a chokehold, i'm telling you. if i thought i ate up the predator, then i must've devoured this one 🤣 i know i have this sitting at a 4.75, but i bet by the end of today, if i'm still thinking about this one, yeah, it's getting bumped right up.

morana, the woman that you are ! love a badass fmc from infinity to infinity ! i absolutely loved her in the predator, but in this??? i truly adored her, inside and out. my heart hurt for her. i want nothing more than to give my girl a hug because she's been strong for so long without having that anchor, that something, that somebody, to keep her grounded—until tristan caine. and my, oh, my, how she deserved that man. that love. i love everything about morana—her confidence, her spunk, her heart, everything, and she deserves the entire world.

and tristan caine. tristan mf caine. the way this man had me flustered. i giggled and kicked my feet so hard for him, it's not even funny. i do wish we were able to get more inside his head and have him open up more to morana, but i do understand where he's coming from with not doing so. and when he broke down in morana's arms, omg, my heart actually shattered for him. "i'm so in love with you, caveman." "you can't take that back... i mean it, morana." "i won't." "tell me again." "i'm in love with you, tristan caine." like please my heart can't take it 😩 but tristan caine, the man that he is. the mf man that he is. as ruthless as he is, he cares for moranahe cares for morana with a gentleness that no one could have ever seen coming, and i love that for him. i love that for her. i love that for them.

oh, i ate this one up. i did. i did. despite this being in the third person, i ate this one up. i just love a good enemies to lovers, and to not know the reason why tristan hated morana until the end, mhm yupppp. and i do know that runyx did explain that morana repeats this multiple times, but babes, let's calm down a little bit now, shall we? it's def ingrained in my mind that tristan's eyes are strikingly blue and his voice sounds like whiskey and sin. i'll never forget it now that it's been said so many times. but in all seriousness, i'm just ready to know who has those goddamn codes 🤣.

morana vitalio. oh how i love and adore her. and i think she's a capricorn too? yup no wonder i love her, she's just like me. she's definitely making her way into my favorite fmc's and i'm not mad at it at all. she's so strong, and stands her ground, despite how she was treated growing up, and even how she's treated now. she's just that girl, and that's that.
