Doctor Who: The Legends of River Song by Steve Lyons, Jenny T. Colgan, Jacqueline Rayner, Andy Lane, Guy Adams

When I first found the book at Waterstones, I had to buy it. River Song is high on the list of my favourite side characters in Doctor Who and the book didn't disappoint.
The first one Picnic at Asgard was a fun one. With the Doctor and River together in an amusement park, a whole lot of things can go wrong and do go wrong but they save the day together in the end. I want to visit Asgard so bad. it sounds like its so much fun for an amusement park fanatic like myself^^
Suspicious Minds was a fun one too. I mean an Auton looking like Elvis saving the bees. The villain was quite obvious in this one, how she disposed of people too but that doesn't mean that it was boring. It was pretty great and River's struggle with the gas was amazingly written.
A Gamble in Time was something completely different. River sent by the Doctor to babysit a man so that his time streams do not cross and in the end, creating a time loop where the one version is destines to always safe the universe, day after day, year after year. I like Martin. he seems like the typical loser who in the end does something great which is largly going unnoticed by the world.
Death in new Venice. Sounds just like a Brunetti crime novel :-D Loved River in this being independent from the Doctor. I love to see her without the Doctor, saving the universe on her own because shes eprfectly capable of that thank you very much.
The story was solid. Nothing to surprising and a little too much rich people get a new gated community and things turn sour, but the AI was very interesting and that thoughts created the bad things was interesting.
Now we come to the last story - River of Time.
I was baffled when the TARDIS turned up but the explanation was great. The idea behind it was great too. There's so little known about the Precursors that everything little bit of information is important. The idea with the captured Time Lord was a nice touch. The solution to the problem too. Let's just hope no one is stumbling upon the TARDIS now :-D
All in all I cans ay that the book was a solid one. I liked the stories. Some were better than others but all in all they brought me nearer to River Song. I want to know everything there is about her. She's such an elsive character and I love her flirty attitude and that she doesn't see herself short.

Three stars just because it’s Sherlock.
The jokes and puns don’t really land in written form and Watson’s nose is hideous! I mean yes, Martin Freeman has a big nose, but not that big!
The story is good though. Definitely something for fans of the series.

I adore the series and so when a friend of mine have me the Manga, I was excited.
I love the art style, although Watson's nose...seriously?
I've always loved the second episode of series one because of the code and John's desperate attempts to live a normal life. Once you get to know Sherlock Holmes, nothing is normal anymore, silly^^
But it’s still just a retelling and the atmosphere is not the same, sadly...

Der Hamburger Kommissar Daniel Buchholz wird morgens zum Fundort einer Leiche gerufen und dort trifft er auf seine neue Partnerin Nina Salomon. Nina ist ungeduscht, unkonventionell und manchmal unmöglich. Nach einer Versetzung von Bremen nach Hamburg müssen diese beiden sehr unterschiedlichen Charaktere miteinander klarkommen und nicht nur das: Sie müssen auch eine fürchterliche Mordserie stoppen, die ganz Hamburg mit noch nie dagewesener Brutalität in Atem hält.
Auf einer Internetseite können Menschen andere Menschen vorschlagen und falls diese dann die Abstimmung „gewinnen“ werden sie vor laufender Kamera, für alle sichtbar im Internet auf höchst brutale, wenn auch kreative Weise umgebracht.
Viel Zeit bleibt den Kommissaren nicht sich aneinander zu gewöhnen, denn nicht nur die Presse sitzt ihnen im Nacken. Auch die Chefin und der leitende Staatsanwalt wollen schnellstmöglich Ergebnisse. Mit jedem weiteren Opfer wächst der Druck auf das Team.
Ich habe dieses Buch verschlungen als ich es zum ersten Mal gelesen habe. Die Kommissare kommen frisch daher und ich mag es sehr, dass man nach und nach erfährt, warum sie diesen oder jenen Charakterzug haben. Trotz oder gerade weil Nina und Daniel so unterschiedlich sind, gibt es zwischen ihnen schnell ein Vertrauensverhältnis. Der Rest des Teams tritt dabei ein wenig in den Hintergrund, was ich schade finde, aber die Protagonisten sind nun mal Nina und Daniel. Und gerade, weil es sich um den ersten Band der Reihe handelt, kann ich nachvollziehen, warum Poznanski und Strobel sich auf den Charakter der Protagonisten konzentrieren.
Kommen wir nun zum Fall. Nach Fünf (erstes Buch, dass ich von Ursula Poznanski gelesen habe) wusste ich bereits, dass sie es versteht originelle und moderne Ideen in ihre Fälle einzubauen. Doch dieser Fall übertrifft alles. Es zeigt auf beängstigende Weise wie furchtbar das Internet sein kann, wenn man weiß, was man tun muss. Durch die Linse Webcam und Anonymität verlieren wir Menschen stellenweise unsere Menschlichkeit. So schwierig es für mich war zu lesen, wie die Morde abgelaufen sind, umso erschrockender war ich, als ich für mich feststellte, dass ich die Frage, ob ich mir die Exekutionen nicht auch angesehen hätte, kein eindeutiges NEIN sagen konnte. Das hat mich tief beeindruckt und ich versuche nun auch immer an mein Gegenüber zu denken, entweder du, werter Leser, oder die Autoren, dessen Bücher ich reviewe.
Die Beschreibung des Dark Webs und der Internetseite fand ich gut. Dazu kann ich nicht viel sagen, da ich nicht weiß, inwiefern das mit dem Dark Web funktioniert. Ich gehe aber davon aus, dass Strobel und Poznanski vorher recherchiert haben
