Only giving it three stars because Paullina Simons is the mistress of romance and I am a sucker for sickening romance! However, I expected The Bronze Horseman quality and only got a self indulgent political discussion. Very disappointed.
The highlight is the character of Gina and her innocence and pure naive love for Harry.
I found myself hating Harry and agreeing with his father a lot of the time- maybe because I'm not an anarchist.
The beauty of The Bronze Horseman was in the notion that they were trying to escape oppressive political regimes not walk right into them as in Children of Liberty.
Still, I can't wait for the sequel.

It may be stereotypical, but being half Italian and having lived in Italy for 2 years, I know the stereotypes are justified!
It was tasty and sexy, but above all, very sweet.
I loved that the main character and her lover weren't gorgeous and they smothered each other in food and had regular rampant sex! It was quite gross, yet erotic at the same time.
The food and the mafia and the morals made it, sopratutto, an Italian story.
I really enjoyed this. It makes reading fun as it should be.

Very accessible book.
Easy to follow, read and enjoy. I didn't fall in love with the character (as much as I like to) but I was sympathetic to her plight and really wanted to know what was happening.
I think it was gripping, but easy to put down and forget about for long periods of time.

Delicious, sexy story. Does what La Cucina does, but with a little more dignity and in France instead of Italy.
I could eat this book. Everything about it is wonderful. It sums up what a story should be and makes me feel warm to think about it.

So tragic about the author's death shortly after handing in the manuscripts. It adds to the suspense of the stories and makes it all seem possible. Shame he didn't get the chance to write any more.
Fantastic stories. A little journalistic in style, but that doesn't detract anything- in fact it adds!

One of my favourite books of all time. I picked this book up because of the pretty front cover, thus never learning that valuable lesson in life!
Anyway, it's weird and involves incest, but who wants to read a conventional story anyway?
Perfect if you fancy something a bit different and magical!
