this book hits a lot deeper than the first one. i really enjoyed that this story is focused more on the emotional & mental healing after a traumatic event. how people distract themselves and pretend to be okay for the sake of everyone else. all at the same time as someone is trying to show them it’s okay to not be okay and it’s okay to rely on people around you. having the dual POV really helps add that layer of emotion to the situation at hand. as much as i love the love between our main characters, i’m glad that the storyline isn’t “love fixes all, relationships fix you” and instead focuses on fixing yourself for yourself, wanting to be okay for yourself and taking back control of your own life. and that it’s okay to allow yourself to love and be loved, even as you’re healing.

i never want this series to end LOL. i am so attached to these characters, their stories, their lives & just everything about them. i love how this is the perfect way to represent opposites attract. we have the nerdy, super smart, tech loving guy and the laid back, super chill, smart but doesn’t like to show it, tattoo artist chick that fit so well together. even though the title is quite literally called “once upon a baby” i was still so shocked & giddy when Meadow took the pregnancy test! the way the story is done is a great way to show how fate will truly bring you to the person you’re meant with. i also just adore River & i am very excited to see what’s in the future for her, hopefully we get to read more about her. the last 15% of the book had me literally on the edge of my seat and my eyes glued to my kindle. not at all what i was expecting but wow it was definitely a rollercoaster! you truly do feel like you’re right there in the lives of these characters. the writing is so real to how people actually are, their personalities jump out of the pages and i was smiling most of the time i was reading it.

i really enjoyed this book. it has amazing character development, lots of hot spice, real world topics that are important, self discovery in more than one way & much more. i love the dual POV, especially with how the two MCs are connected, it really adds to the sense of “what’s going to happen next?” “omg i can’t believe that happened”. the banter & conversation through the characters are top notch! i love that this story is so real & raw in its own way because you can feel the emotion, the conflict, the hurt through the pages. i’m very excited to see what happens in the next story because i was immediately interested in knowing more about Lot & Dice. i do wish we had gotten a bit more closure with the ending but i am happy with the story as a whole!
i did receive an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest & true review, thank you again!

this is book 1 of 3 & i am so eager for the next one!
i love novellas like this because they feel like full length novels with the depth & layers that the author adds into them. you can feel the tension, the worry, the vulnerability & the “wtf is happening right now” all throughout reading this story. i love a good second chance romance and this was done so well, wasn’t forced or rushed between the characters. the dual POV gives us a peak inside both of our main characters to see exactly what they’re feeling, which is huge when it’s something as emotional as this. the ending left me wanting more and in a good way.

this book had me HOOKED! i really enjoyed the 3 POVs, especially with it being MFM because it really added the extra layer of depth to the story but also the inner voice of each character, their feelings & reason for their actions. it did take a little getting used to since i’m typically used to dual POV but i enjoyed it! i relate quite a lot to Charlotte on the biological relative aspect as i went through the same with some of my bio siblings, it was definitely a journey. towards the end, i was pretty shocked at what happened based on how most of the book was going for their relationship. i love that Lourdes’ fan fiction was in it, those were great lol. at one point, i was hoping for more between Will & Beck but everything ends up how it’s supposed to end up and i’m pretty happy with the ending. i honestly can relate to each main character in their own way & it was shocking but it helped me attach myself to the story more and got me even more into everything happening. even with the heavy topics & conversations in this book that really hit home for me, most of it was not only spicy but very rom com & i love that.

this book has a huge mental health representation & i absolutely love that. i also enjoyed that it was dual POV because it shows both sides of what it’s like to be someone who has mental health issues like anxiety & panic attacks and what it’s like to be someone who is trying to support them getting help. that is such an important topic and i love how it was written in this story. i grew up in the tattoo industry and am a tattoo myself & i’ve seen firsthand how women tattoo artists are treated so i love that Wren is a tattoo artist & mentions how tough it is for women! it really helps bring reality into the book because it just breaks my heart to see how many women have been treated poorly in the industry. Brooks owning the bookstore next door is just icing on the cake! two of my favorite things in one book, love it LOL. & the name of the tattoo shop is SO fitting! plus the banter, the enemies to lovers vibe & essentially a second chance are so well done in this book. absolutely ate it up!

hockey is my second fav sport so i was very excited to jump into this book! i loved everything about this book. the flirting, the tension, the “should i? should we?” inner turmoil. i also love that the team is based in tampa because im a tampa local LOL. im a sucker for dual POV because seeing what Kodi & Maverick really thought really added another layer of depth. especially when to one of them, the situation seems completely different. i loved everything about the single dad x nanny trope, this was my first book for it & it did not disappoint. i’m very excited to see what’s next

this book kept me on the edge of my seat! especially the second half, i couldn’t put it down. the characters, the storyline, all of it is just so real. you can feel all of the emotions through the pages. i found myself audibly gasping multiple times while reading. i love that it’s a dual pov because being able to have that sense of knowing how both characters are feeling and what they’re thinking is great. especially with a story like this, it truly adds another layer of depth to it. i kept finding myself try to guess what would happen next because things would happen a lot differently than what even the main characters were expecting to happen. every twist & turn was shocking to me! i absolutely enjoyed this book
