Once again, I read things backwards! I read book 2 before book 1. Bah! Thankfully, it doesn’t really matter. They don’t connect in that way.
Anywho! Talk about a scary evolutionary possibility!?! A giant mosquito… no.. no thank you. The book itself didn’t scare me, but the idea of it definitely did! It was a great listen; these kind of stories are my favorite as an audio book.
If you like horror books, or weird and eerie stories, then I highly suggest anything by Jeremy Bates. He has a great way of turning places, legends and theories into creepy cool stories!
Narration was great! He does well with all the voices and keeps me engaged the whole time.

You don’t know a story has been missing from your life until it’s been told to you.

I didn’t realize the hole in my fantasy soul until it was filled 𝒃𝒚. 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔. 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌.
✾
The dragons, the riders, their bond, the magic it contains… it was flawlessly captured. I had no problems envisioning what was taking place.
Situations were coming that I didn’t see coming. Tension & secrets appear without you seeing them fully as they are. I was just impressed with the story altogether. I don’t want to say more; although I think I could easily write a three page paper about how great it is if given the assignment.

The Sleep Experiment by Jeremy Bates
medium-paced
4.0
Not a slow book, which I appreciated; but it was a slow build. The experiment takes time, so as it goes, things seem normal until they… don’t. Dr. Wallis’s true colors start to show throughout when others start to disagree with things going on with the sleep experiment. The patients can’t sleep and so things go from bored… to down. right. crazy.
Things go from good, to okay, to bad, to worst.
Narration was 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 good. Kept me hooked and into the story the whole time.
Loved it, starting number 3 soon!

I don’t think I was mentally ready for this one. I was squirming, (in a squeamish way). 🤢
I can read these books, but definitely have to check myself to be prepared. Anywho; it was good! I liked the twist of this; the twist being, the clowns are the ones being hunted and killed. Normally it’s the clowns being scary and killing like crazies but this took a turn! Interesting for sure. I felt really bad for one of the main characters.. the torture was hard for me to stomach to be honest. All in all, if you like extreme horror books / splatter punk, you’d like this! I’ll try another by this author down the road for sure.

Well. This book is messed up. Beyond messed up. So messed up, that I had to keep reading to the end. Probably shouldn’t have, but I did. I blurted out the entirety of it to my hubs after and he looked at me like I was the one disturbed… maybe I am for reading this? I dunno. What in the actual F was this? A toilet full of S**t to be honest.
I didn’t like it. I didn’t not like it. But I can’t like it. I won’t recommend it. 𝐈𝐅 you do read this, take caution and have a happy movie at the ready. 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌 𝑻𝑾.
