Her Soul to Take 💀 Review

‘In French, there’s a phrase for the random urge to jump from high places, the irrational desire to swerve into traffic despite imminent destruction: l’appel du vide, the call of the void’ - Harley Laroux 🕳️

So it turns out, I love a dark romance 👀 who knew? I was a big fan of the dark, gothic atmosphere. Obsessed with the whole summoning a demon thing. And who knew demons were more polite than men? Not I 😂

I really liked Leon’s character, his sass was top tier. Rae was stubborn as hell, constantly pushing buttons. But their chemistry was 🤌🏻 big fan of the consent chat too.

I needed a bit more info surrounding the paranormal aspects of this book. Like Leon…how powerful is he? Also, the god? …maybe I’m being too literal but I didn’t get it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please check TWs ⚠️ Dark Stalker Romance.

I’m totally new to dark romance, but I loved this 🙈 I was totally absorbed by Adeline’s creepy Manor House. The stalking was actually pretty terrifying - best believe I would’ve been outta there 😂

Considering this book in nearly 600 pages long, I flew through it. I loved Zade and Addie together, I loved them apart (Zane’s scenes are a hard read). I wasn’t as taken in by the murder mystery side of things but it gave Addie a purpose I guess. 💕

There are moments of cringe and repulsion, some scenes push the line but for me it was never too much. I’ve never read a book like it - I can’t wait to read the second part 🐈‍⬛

I mean, we all know these books aren’t masterpieces when it comes to writing. The plot left a lot to be desired and obviously the whole thing was toxic as hell. 💀

But I can’t lie, I was hooked. Read it over 2 evenings, I didn’t want to go to sleep. This has been rarity for me the last couple of years so it was clearly the drama I needed. 🤌🏻

Such an easy read, football bully romance, not particularly spicy but it was one of her early books. I’ll be reading the next one and already have my eyes on the other Lorraine series’. 💖

Dragons! I mean…I’m always going to love returning to Basgiath War College. I was hooked, I read this so fast and I cannot wait for book 3! ⚔️

It doesn’t beat Fourth Wing. The plot and pace was superior in book 1, but I just loved being back with all the characters in Iron Flame. 📖

The side characters carried this book, I loved the bonds that were formed. I would kill for more Tairn and Andarna too, they were hilarious. 🐲

For me, Violet and Xaden lost a bit of their charm - particularly Xaden (possibly because he spent so much time away). I know we’re not waiting for them to get together now…but the miscommunications seemed forced? They were solid in book 1. 💖

I LOVED the fight scenes, the action and the intense scenes in this book. The addition of the fliers and griffins was so cool! Just need more dragon time plz 🫰🏻

I actually really loved this rom com 🥹 I don’t know why…it’s not one I’ve seen everywhere but it’s exactly what I needed in a summer read ☀️

I’m a sucker for fake dating, and this is a really well done friends to lovers. I adored both characters, I couldn’t wait for them to both be on page. Perfect for each other and it was just TOO CUTE 💖

The whole famous footballer thing wasn’t overdone, there was no awful 3rd act falling out 👏🏻 at times it all felt a bit too convenient and pretty young but it was just such a fun read. 🤷🏻‍♀️

‘I want my life to be like-like making pottery. I want to enjoy it while it’s happening, not just for where it might get me eventually’ Emily Henry 🥰

At this point, I don’t think Emily Henry can miss. Her books are a ray of sunshine when you need one. I was worried about this one as I’m not a second chance lover but THIS BOOK WAS SO HEALING 🥹

Somehow, I was routing for Harriet and Wyn right from the start. They were really comforting to read about and the whole friendship group felt like a warm hug. 🫂

I think I enjoyed this book so much because it had a bigger message woven throughout. Something I think a lot of adults need to hear. Do what makes YOU happy, be who YOU are and live in all the small moments of everyday ✨

Another relaxing fantasy from Travis Baldree. It was lovely to be back in the world of L&L. Some loveable characters and nods to things yet to come with this being a prequel. I loved the book vibes in this one but wasn’t as much of a fan of the action - it lost some coziness. 🗡️
