WOW!
First thing I’ll say is, I understand the hype for these books now!
Following Brandon and Nikolai in this book as they battled with their own demons was moving but also emotional. Each of them has something they don’t want the other to see and know about. With one main emotion present at the heart of it. Fear.
The story itself is beautifully written and sucks you in without a second thought. The emotions that scream through this book will make you feel so much and yet not enough. This was the first book I read by this author and I can’t wait to read more.
I’d normally explain a little about what happens in this book but honestly I don’t want to.
I went into this book blind and that’s what I recommend anyone thinking of reading it to do.
Knowing what happens won’t necessarily spoil the story but I would say the surprise and tension is so worth the wait.

An amazing book!
Max and Luca, omg their chemistry was undeniable! 🤣
Luca, an ex-mafia enforcer turned hockey team security guard, meets Max, a hot headed Hockey captain that gets hurt after a game.
The reason. Someone from Luca’s past. Someone he’d rather never see or speak to again.
The event turns both Luca and Max’s life upside down.
Now Luca is thrown in at the deep end being Max’s bodyguard, preventing what happened from happening again.
Simple, right? Nope.
Not when the attraction both of them feel for each other seems to be as distracting as Luca’s tattoos. 🫠
Not only does this book have action, with a slow build but medium burn, but it also deals with heavy topics in a respectful manner.

What a story!
I loved this book from the moment I picked it up and read the first chapter.
Talia and Kipps back and forth banter when they first met was entertaining. Especially when both were fighting the pull that they felt for the other.
Watching their bond grow along their journey was beautiful. No matter how much they fought their connection. ‘Fate.’ Seemed to have its way of reminding them just how vital and important they were to each other.
The plot twist at the end took my breath away and definitely made me do a double take 🤣🤣
Everything about this book has what you’d look for in a dark fairytale retelling. From the dark deeds both our MC’s commit, to the protectiveness they have for not only each other but those around them.
Even with their own darkness lurking within them. They still manage to help those that are in need and still believe that they deserve what is thrown at them. Curse or no.
This story is definitely dark in some places when it comes to fights, action and on the rare occasion that follows in order to complete a birthright.
Regardless of all that. This story was amazingly written. The world building, character development and angst in this was outstanding. Each chapter I felt myself sinking further and further into the world these amazingly talented authors created.

I’ll say this first. Cosy Romance’s of any kind aren’t my thing when it comes to reading.
I’d rather read a book that contains so much angst and heartache that it might as well tear out my heart, set it on fire then make it into a record so I could hear that agony for myself. 🤣🤣
That being said, I wanted a simple read. One that might get me out of the slump I’ve been in for so long.
This book definitely did that. From start to finish I couldn’t put it down. Well apart from the moments that were just a little too cosy for my liking.
Sage is a Librarian who loves her job caring for the books under her care at the Royal Library. Everything was going well until one little mishap starts a snowball reaction and sweeps her along with it. Now she’s staying with the very people she swore to stay away from. The Charming Four.
Trying to find a way to cure a curse that she had no idea existed until she discovered what causes it from a friend. During her study in looking for a cure she attracts the attention of the Crown Prince. Knowing what she’s able to do he asks her to create something that isn’t only questionable but dangerous.
Thankfully her new friends promise to protect her from the Crown Prince and set out to find what exactly he’s up to. Joining the Charming Four on one of their missions she discovers information that might help her in finding the cure she’s desperately trying to create.
Everything looks to be moving in the right direction until the Crown Prince’s plan is finally revealed and Sage not only get’s caught in the crossfire but gains an unusual companion. Confessions are released and secrets revealed.
As for the world building and plot this book did a fantastic job of combining the two, each working in perfect harmony.
The descriptions were beautiful and I saw myself watching this book play like a movie. I would’ve given this book 5 stars but unfortunately I found a few mishaps in both the book and audiobook.
Other than those tiny mishaps. This book was an amazing and enjoyable read. If you’re looking for an easy read with magic, curses, dragons, bees, and potions. This book is definitely worth picking up.

When I received this book I was bursting with excitement. Not only do I love this author and the worlds she creates, but this book was one of my most anticipated reads of the year.
After it was downloaded I jumped straight in. Disregarding the other things I had planned for that day. 🤣 What can I say? When I’m passionate about books I can’t ignore them. Especially when it’s by one of my favourite authors. 🤭
From the moment I met Lilith I knew she was going to be an amazing protagonist. Which is funny in itself given how villains are normally the antagonist of the story. 🤣🤭 Her personality was a refreshing change. She knew how powerful she was but never flaunted it like other villains would. She never wanted to be viewed as an evil villain, just a powerful one.
Her previous work allowed her to claim that title in not just one kingdom but three. Bored. Lilith decides to focus her sights on her new target. Prince Asher, the second prince of Necia. Disguising herself as a maid, she infiltrates his palace with the intention of proving the perfect prince is not as he seems.
Little did she know that her mission was going to be harder than she anticipated. From the suspicious staff, not being able to use her magic, to an unknown enemy trying to kill the prince. She learns that ‘not all as it seems’ at the Prince’s castle.
After a particular incident. Lilith is tasked with accompanying the prince on a mission. Just the 2 of them. What could possibly go wrong? 😏
During their time together Lilith slowly starts to see sides of the prince that not even his closest staff have seen. Their mission seems easy enough to accomplish, but how will they fare after their demons become known.
Love. Hate. Fear. Acceptance. Redemption.
All these play a part in this story, which is something you’ll have to discover yourself.

The world building in this story was amazing and I loved every part of it. None of that was the reason for this DNF.
When I first started this book I found the beginning quite slow. Once I got into the story, I loved what I read and the characters that were introduced.
The story itself is beautifully written and wonderfully described. The pace for me is just a little slow for my attention to stick to.

Beautiful, painful story.
This story does have some triggering content in it that might make some readers uncomfortable. Please check the trigger warnings in this book before picking it up. I have included some of the triggers that are in it. The author does include a little more information on those topics.
An arranged marriage between a human and monster. Something that many look for unless the monster you’re marrying terrifies the other monsters. Nothing good can ever come from that union. Yet to May her husband is her saviour.
He brings a warmth to her world she hasn’t felt in a long time. He is caring and will do anything to make sure she’s safe and protected. Even if that means getting a little possessive.
Virgil is the last of his kind still walking around and when he finds his wife. He’s used to being feared and he doesn't expect his wife to be any different but she is. Unlike the others she isn’t scared of him. She’s more terrified of the voices in her head than him.
Watching their relationship blossom and grow through this book was beautiful. Although a little painful. Both of them have their own demons and try as they might they aren’t able to fight them alone.
My only criticism about this book is May who is 19. Getting married to a being a lot older than her. I’m not someone that is bothered by drastic age gaps, but most of the time the age gap is between someone in their mid to late twenties. Not their late teens.
Other than that the book was great. The characters were beautifully written and the world building was excellent.

This is the second book I’ve read from this author and it hasn’t disappointed me. ☺️
I loved this read. Not only did I love Riley and her personality but I lobed watching her slowly grow.
Watching her with the twins and Aegir was funny and beautiful.
For someone who had no clue in what she was doing. She managed to work everything out and make new friends along the way.

This was such a great read.
From the moment I picked it up I knew it was going to be a great read, and I wasn’t wrong.
Watching Maya rediscover herself and find herself in this book was beautiful.
This was my first ever alien book and it didn’t disappoint.
It made me laugh and blush, in the best way.
If you’re thinking of getting in to this kind of genre I was definitely recommend this one.
There’s not much spice and you get to know the characters, without it feeling rushed.

One of my fav reads of this year.
The story follows Saki Oki. An office worker who gets a promotion to be the secretary to the CEO of the company she works for.
Sounds just like a normal story. Right? Wrong.
This story has a twist most of the population are Beastfolk. And those that are born human are almost always ignored or bullied.
I absolutely loved Saki. Her determination to be good at her job and get the recognition she so totally deserves is incredible and inspiring.
The things she’s been through and suffered because of the others at her workplace are infuriating.
She’s such a lovable character but she’s also a firecracker. 🤣
When she meets Atlas she terrified and it’s understandable why later on in the story.
Reading and watching their work relationship bloom was both adorable and terrifying.
Both the ML & FL struggle with things and some of them are touched on in this volume.
This story has a lot of potential and I can’t wait to see what the next volume has in store.
