i did not appreciate this man. he did nothing. his character arc is the absence of arc and more like a character inching toward decency

Absolutely devastating and full of complex emotion. I felt everything while reading this book.
But of course, at the end of the day, the only true villain is slavery and assumption of white supremacy that is the foundation of America.

(2.5) Very similar vibes to The Pumpkin Spice Café, of course, but I think I liked this one even better. I liked the plot and dynamic of the characters more. I wish it was more autumn-y, it’s more of a summer story. Which obviously doesn’t actually matter, but i half read these books for the vibe haha

(2.5) Honestly so adorable. It was silly and cliche and I wasn't obsessed, but it was a quick and pleasant read that I would def recommend for romance readers during autumn.
Men Have Called Her Crazy by Anna Marie Tendler

i thought this book was incredible. i loved the vulnerability wand honesty. Tendler shares her truth in this memoir- fully and unapologetically. I don’t agree with everything she does or says, but that doesn’t matter, that’s part of why i liked it.
she expressed herself with self awareness and growth that i found very admirable.

the iconic story of family and love and a plethora of moral lessons/values. i agree with some and disagree with others, but i still respect their perspective and the beautiful writing portraying them.
