I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

Yet another "listen while I read along". Ok, so this book was amazing. It was another recommendation from my cousin and even though I wasn't sure what the heck this book even talked about, I wasn't going to question her after how much I loved The Sound of Gravel. So I dove in head first with no knowledge of the book other than lots of people were talking about it being good. And they were right! While this book did cover some hard topics it was told brilliantly. The audiobook is read by the author and everything she wrote in this book was so raw and real. She really opened herself up to the whole world to share the truth of her journey since childhood.

This was the first book that I finished this year. My cousin recommended it to me and so I got the audiobook from the library to listen to it. When I first started the book, I was kind of bored and wondering why this was book-worthy. But it ramped up quickly and ended up being an amazing book! It was narrated by the Author (which I always love for memoirs!) and I think the pacing was done very well. Honestly, I am trying to remember why I only have it 4 stars instead of 4.5 or 5, but I think I'm just going to have to trust my judgment that I had when I added the rating on my Storygraph haha!

This book was not what I thought it was going to be and I loved it. It was so much deeper than I expected and really made me think about life.

Amazing! That is all I can really say. This book will break your heart and put it back together in the best way. Between swoon-worthy characters, chapters that will have you tearing up with laughter, and the depth of the characters in this book, you will be taken on an adventure that will make you think about the really important things in life.

This book blew me away! I finished it in 3 days and immediately wanted to read it again! Between ADHD and being a mood reader, it can take me months to finish a book, but I couldn't even think about any other books once I started this one. Every night when I was going to sleep I just couldn't put it down. Serious one-more-chapter syndrome alert!
This book was beautifully written. The twist at the end was done so well that I immediately wanted to read the book again to see what I had missed. It shined a whole new light on the entire book that made me want to re-read and see all the subtle connections I had missed the first time.
This book was a 10/10 for me. It had short chapters that were easy to follow and the plot just pulled me right in and didn't let go. A must-read!
