This was the best book I’ve read this year by far. The writing and characters were amazing!! Meilin’s struggles, bravery, and madness was such a fresh breath of air. Following her story throughout the entire book and her mental state changing throughout each event was so unique. Seeing her question her sanity and trusting the dragon. Loved it! I loved her trying to build her relationships with others and witnessing the cruelties of war. The author did not hesitate to put Meilin in difficult situations where she faced death, abuse, torture, murder, and war. This was really new for me and something I haven’t read in most books yet so I was pretty surprised to see something like this and it just suits the character and story.
The two love interests were perfect…. None of the male leads felt forced to the reader and I was starting to love Sky and Meilin but when you add Lei to the equation…. I fell even harder for Lei haha!! Lei and Meilin surprisingly work too and I enjoyed that part of the book.
I can’t wait for the second book. I am constantly checking Song’s insta page for updates!
I really enjoyed the characters in this book and the mystery behind trying to figure out who was causing the murders. I loved how the relationship between Eojin and Hyeon. It was very cute and developed nicely. One thing however is the fact that he disappeared for several months and then comes back at the end? After reading CaW I noticed the same thing happened to the ML and I didn’t like how the same thing happened here but that doesn’t take away from the story I suppose.
Overall I enjoyed the book and there were so many complex characters so it really did develop just like a drama. This is the second book I’ve enjoyed by June Hur. I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with in the future.
This was such a fun read! I really missed reading something like this. It reminded me so much of short scary stories I would read when I was younger and the illustrations were really great. The author had a great take on his interpretation and I loved his afterword on each chapter. Favorite story was def the lost media story and the green ribbon one
This was a crazy series to read and the art gets so creepy. The author def knows how to draw and do full panel work. I still need some explanation on what homunculus are and whether this was just Nakoshi’s mental state or if it was rlly bc of his power to see. I felt rlly bad about the whole Nanako situation but this was second best arc. Justice for my beloved Ito. Glad to see Ito at the very end.
This was one of the best Webtoons I have read in such a long time. I read over 100 chapters in a sitting yesterday and I can’t believe I finished it so quickly. I absolutely loved all the characters and especially how much I loved Amy and admired her for her growth over the series. I will admit that I expected something more grand to happen towards the end or more development between Amy and Kevin but overall I was satisfied w the ending!
I really enjoyed the how June Hur created this story while still using the historical context of the hardships people faced during this time. Overall I liked the characters and grew to love them in the second half of the book. The first half of the book is hard to get through then the plot, action, and romance picks up by the last 15 chapter.
I did get emotional when I got to chapter 42 and even more when you saw Isuel MOURNED Daehyun I felt like the murder mystery aspect of it was interesting but the coup was really awesome to see. I loved the ending!!!!!!
Absolutely loved this book!!!!! Both characters, Julius and Sadie are absolutely brilliant and their bickering is hilarious. There wasn’t a dull moment in this book ! This is my second book I’ve read from Liang and I adored her writing in this. The email at the end was ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. I CANNOT THINK OF A BTTER WAY TO END.
Loved this series ! Can’t believe I got into this series so late and missed the hype. Definitely one of my top webtoons and would recommend to anyone !
