 My Review

A Taste of Whiskey is the third book in the Redemption Ranch series. This couple has been teased in the previous two books and it definitely has some of the best forbidden vibes to it. I really enjoyed this dynamic of these combination of tropes and the build up of tension that is between these two. The heroine could get a bit annoying in how she pursued the hero, but honestly the ending is what really knocked up the rating for me. The book was so interesting though, and how it built up the forbidden elements to their relationship.

We have a single dad who will do anything for his son. His son has found a safe fun home at Redemption Ranch and he has much more to lose than Sasha does. Sasha's family runs the Redemption Ranch and is tired of waiting for Ezra to make his move and makes the efforts to go after her. So she wants to do it herself. I like the efforts that they work on to go after each other and trying at the same time to keep it from their families that its only platonic.

The reveal was perfection! Sometimes these can be lackluster, but I found that the way it was handled was just right. You really sense how much these two love each other and the way in which that they will be fighting for each other. And the family's reaction was PRICELESS. I honestly want to reread that scene now because it was so heartfelt and seeing the way in which these siblings fight for each other was so brilliant. I really want the parent's book though. If you know if Foster wrote it, let me know.

Overall I found Taste of Whiskey to be a powerful stimulating read that delivered on the laughs and heartfelt moments to satisfy me from beginning to end!

 My Review

This was one of the most powerful additions to this series so far! I absolutely LOVED this book. It just won my heart so quickly and loved how powerful their love was. I adored such a protector in our hero and how much he would defend Nera with his dying breath. Nera was such an impactful heroine too. I just couldn't get enough of her strength and resilience. What she is willing to do to protect her little girl, really humbled me because I am not sure I could have gone to the lengths that she did. We see her come into her own strength when she had her little one to protect.

The romance aspects between these two just FIRED me up emotionally and even spiritually in some ways. How they learn to fight for each other in different ways I was immediately drawn to. I also couldn't get enough of seeing the way that they lean on each other. Even though they go through some hardships they also never stop believing in each other. And even though there is a secret baby trope in this one, I really enjoyed how it was handled. At first I was a bit nervous, but the author pulled it through in a way that I could vibe with and loved that she didn't keep it a secret long.

Overall if you love a good stalker romance or can't get enough of a good mafia that will have some solid twists and turns, you most definitely need to read this one! You won't regret it!

What a POWERFUL story and what a painful story to read at times. This is the roughest period of LDS church history. As it deals with secret combinations, and the Order 44---Extermination order issued by the government of Missouri and the tortures that they suffered but it also showcases some beautiful miracles that happen along the way. So while I went through a box of tissues doing a reread of this book it also delivered messages of love and hope and resilience in a time of such hate!

I absolutely had a BLAST with this book and Lake is my favorite book of the series...hands down. While I have had fun with the others, this one was a story I seemed to connect with on a deeper level with. And what is the most hilarious about it is the fact that I was the most nervous about this one. In the blurb it hints at the heroine having this plan to do things to make the hero hate her so she doesn't have to marry him but the moment she meets him she knows that he is her only hope for happiness and true freedom from her situation and what freedom she finds with Lake and its so precious and beautiful. I love how in these books the spice is low key and not as focused. Its very refreshing, its there but its not heavy in the story which is what I really appreciate about Michelle Heard.

I found their romance to be so endearing and how he courts her so sweetly just melted my heart!

 My Review:

So I was very eager for this as I fell in love with the first book. But I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in this one. I still enjoyed some aspects of this book. There were some fun elements of the forbidden love and I really liked the elements of the age gap, for the most part.

I think what turned me off for the most part in this book is the over hyped focus of sex between these two. To be honest, I didn't really feel the romantic connection, it just felt like their foundation in their relationship is all about their sexual connection and nothing more than that. And this is NOT what was in the prequel. I had really high expectations too going into this one as well. I wanted to connect with this couple because the premise of their story really appealed to me so deeply. Another issue that I had with this story was how the reveal of them being together was handled with their families. It just felt very lackluster and anti climatic and fell flat. When you have a forbidden love and a relationship being kept secret and in the shadows, the reveal needs to be satisfying and it just didn't on any level for me.

So while there were some positive aspects to this story, and I still enjoyed it as a whole, there were elements to this book that turned me off completely and just ruined the enjoyment that I could have had from this one here. I will continue with the series though and hope the next book is much more of a positive experience.

 My Review:

Gerald Lund is PURE MAGIC in this series and it was such a delight to be able to do a reread of this marvelous book and then watch the film adaptation ---which is brilliant and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Pillar of Light is a story that focuses on the beginnings of when the Steed family meets Joseph Smith Jr and also when we see the early beginnings of the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If you want to know the history of this faith, I highly recommend this series and you will get some beautiful family connections and a wonderful romances that build along the way that involve the Steed family.

I absolutely adored the love triangle in this one and seeing the true romance between Nathan and Lydia form. Out of all the couples we see in this series, they are definitely a favorite! They have such a pure love. And Gerald Lund captures it so beautifully!

 My Review:

Hunting Ground is the second book in the "Alpha and Omega" series and even though these books aren't necessarily five star reads ....I can't convey how much I am having a blast with these books. There is something about Anna and Charles that I am head over heels in love with. In Hunting Ground, our couple has been sent by the alpha to attend a special summit and one where there are dangers involved. There is a hidden enemy, and one that neither Charles or Anna will expect.

Seeing these two together "Practically honeymooners" going on this dangerous mission but becoming so united was so brilliant to see. And thankfully the intimate scenes were kept to a minimum. I really enjoyed how the author handled their relationship and blended it just right into the plot. It could have used a bit more romance time for them though. But y'all know that I just need my romantic feels. I did become so encouraged by this one here and what was built within this story. The author really SHOCKED me with that ending. Like WHAT????!!! How is that individual the villain? Yeah I have a feeling this won't be the last time that this author will take me on such a roller coaster.

Overall I had a blast with this one here and eager to continue to see what is up next.

 My Review:

What a blast of a romance this one turned out to be. I took way too long to write this review (I do have health reasons happening that delayed it) but I honestly couldn't seem to get enough of this one here. And after how the previous book left off, I just knew that I had to quickly pick this one up. I am so grateful that I did as well, because Mason's book was a blast to read. I didn't quite enjoy it as much as the first book, however, it was endearing and there is a side to Mason that we get to see within this one that I really enjoyed. And also the mysterious element was so fascinating but my heart just melted to the family originally affected by it all. Michelle Heard does a very interesting twist within the story for the romance and the dynamics that bring them together was quite different from my expectations on it. But Michelle Heard knew how to win me over and she definitely did within this one here. But of course, it ended with another serial cliffhanger, so lets jump into book 3 soon shall we? LOL
