Well plotted and a bit more philosophical than I thought it’d be when I started it. Listen, if I backed the secret Sanderson kickstarter project, I have to have some context for his other worlds

Spooky and creepy and wild, really loving Moreno-Garcia’s body of work, and am looking forward to reading more of her!

Without question, one of her best. It hit all the right notes, gave each character and plot point its appropriate weight, and kept you in it for the whole ride. Interesting set up, interesting follow through!

Honestly I don’t even know what this book was about after reading it. Author relied on danger to increase the tension of the book, but it was never believable that Avery was in any danger at all. Was disappointed by the resolution of the book. Just a weird thing to be drawn into the world and be a little let down once you get there?

Interesting interesting! Thought the build up could have been a little more streamlined but at the same time, appreciated the full context-it just felt like the denouement was rushed

I really liked it!!! I really liked it a lot. Engaging and interesting, almost a “where’d you go Bernadette” but in the mid 20th century rather than the early 21st? About loss and identity and motherhood and family. Good fun, too
