Cute story. Not the best written book I’ve ever read, definitely skimmed through some parts but cute story overall

A collection of short stories: some were better than others. Some were fully fleshed-out stories that were beautiful and strange, some were too short too simple they were confusing more than anything. Some read like a pitch for a book idea - not fully formed stories with a beginning and an end. The good ones were really good, the bad ones were blah

1) author does not know how to write about non yt folks. It came off ignorant and mostly offensive
2) the steamy romance is interesting but I’m not completely sold on the plot. MC is a little annoying with how often she makes obviously dumb decisions which is why the plot is just okay.
3) I’ll read the 2nd one because it ended on a cliffhanger but I’m not convinced it’s going to deliver
Overall, the romance is steamy the plot is meh, tired of reading yt ppl stereotypes of non yt folks

Devastatingly perfect. Heartbreaking in its portrayals and accounts of colonization of most of the world by white Europeans. Amazing historical information. I’ve always enjoyed learning about translation, so this book was especially enjoyable for me

I like that it built on the first novel, the Firekeepers Daughter. Very good plot that weaves the fiction with actual indigenous issues. A little slow at times but overall very good novel.

Tragic, melancholy, romantic, fast-paced. Everything I love about this author. This one did not disappoint.

Story was decent, the characters lacked depth, development. Dialogue was boring, artificial. But the mythology and storyline kept me interested enough to finish the book. Wish it had been better

The first two books of this series were 5/5. Book 3 was a dumpster fire and I almost gave up. Book 4 got the train back on track. This one, Book 5, landed somewhere in the middle.
It didn’t have the character development, emotional depth, or world building as the first two. It ended the series plot well, and the expansion of the mythology was inspirational. I enjoyed the nature aspect to the series. Overall, I’m glad I read the series.
