emotional reflective sad slow-paced

Meant to be a memoir, this book is surprisingly defensive of its storytelling. It’s clear the author is struggling with sharing their story, being candid, more than once judgmental of the subject matter and therefore the reader. It’s odd to be scolded of the author for reading  on the subject the author wrote…
Many times while reading, I thought, who made you write this book??
informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

It was a spiritual and inspiring journey reading this book. Thoroughly enjoyed learning more about curanderismo and Mexican/indigenous cultures.

Pulled the curtain back and exposed the ugly, petty world of book publishing. Dirty read of handling internet trolls, getting ahead in a cutthroat industry and of course a white woman who deludes herself into thinking she is the victim to justify her racist, envious actions.
Always thought book-reading was such a wholesome, noble activity. This book will have you questioning that.
