My Rating : 2.5⭐

Okay the concept of putting 2 of the coolest things a Vampire + a Pirate was intriguing. I picked this book without knowing it was a part of a series just for the cover and name alone!

Coming to the story, the concept of the book was pretty exciting, but it did not have me glued to the book. I had a pretty hard time sitting through it.

The alternate perspective was really good, but at some places i felt it was kind of a drag and was over explained. If you are looking for a very light read, you might be interested in the way this book is written. Those who love complex YA or Adult books, this might disappoint you.

My Rating : 3.5🌟

'Three motives- that is all too much!. I am inclined to believe that, after all, he is innocent'

Guilty secrets rarely stay a secret. Who had been blackmailing the woman Roger Ackroyd loved before her death? Had it really driven her to suicide? And would it all be revealed in the letter that arrived in the evening post? Sadly Roger Ackroyd wasn't going to live long enough to find out... This book deals with the murder of Roger Ackroyd and the mystery surrounding the death!

As usual, when it is a book by Agatha Christie, i tend to love it with all of my heart. But i really went into this book as a clean slate. Her writing is amazing as usual, and the way the story unfolds when Hercule Poirot enters the scene is the best.

The setting of the book that leads to murder was wonderfully done, and how the story unfolds is amazing. But the only thing that was really disappointing was the fact that i could actually guess the murderer half way into the book!. Though it is not revealed till the end, you could pick on every move the person makes in the chapters, and it only made the accusation more accurate! But nonetheless, i loved the way the book was written!

My favorite character has to be Caroline - The nosy sister who makes her job to know about everyone else's job! It was such a refreshing character to read about, and the post script will definitely make you question everything you just read for 300 pages! Nonetheless, September 15 being her birthday , i wanted to read her book on her birthday, and i succeeded to do that in a singe sitting!

If you are looking to get impressed by more Hercule Poirot magic, then i would definitely recommend this book to you! This is not the best 1st book to start your Agatha christie journey with, but it is for continuing!
