America is extremely annoying but I kind of really like Maxon (I especially really like his name lol) so despite how cheesy and frustrating this book is, I think I’m going to pick up the next one. I don't really have too many thoughts about this book, but I liked the way Maxon and America interacted (well, mostly Maxon's side of things) but goddamn Aspen and his weird pride and I just don't really understand any of his motives. He seems shady. I did like America and her maids' friendship and the way she cared for them.
The writing style of this book didn't really work for me, but I think the characters (some of them, anyway) and the fact that these books are quick to read will make me continue the series.

I’m really torn about my feelings on this book. I kind of like this book but I also don’t but it's fun and quick to read so I think I'll read the next one?? Maybe. We'll see.

This was much better than the first one. It stuck closer to the book's storyline and I really enjoyed it.
My main problem with the first one was that it strayed too far from the book, adding new dialogue that felt awkward and unlike Riordan. This second instalment had some exact lines from the book and it was just what I wanted. There were still some odd, un-Riordan-y lines but it was significantly lower.
It felt a little rushed in the second half, but overall, was a pleasant read.
