The Lump of Coal by Lemony Snicket
3.0
This was a quick, enjoyable story but not very memorable. It was okay, basically. Nothing too special.
The Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel by Robert Venditti, Rick Riordan
2.5
It was fun to see the book in pictures, but the adaptation just wasn't as good as it could've been. A lot of the attempts at humour were simply awkward; not at all like Riordan's witty and hilarious writing.
The story was condensed, which I understand since it would probably be more difficult to draw out every scene, but it felt random and choppy.
The story line was a little different, some parts seeming more akin to the movie than the book.
In general, it was an okay read but I was really expecting more as someone who absolutely LOVES this series.

The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
medium-paced

My first book of 2020 and it started off amazing and then, it got... weird.
It was confusing and somewhat rushed and kind of random, at times. At least it was for me.
The first three short stories were super fun and intriguing! They left me with many questions, but that was to be expected from the books that's starting the journey into a fantasy world. Each short story was a clever introduction to the different creatures of the world and Geralt's life.
The last two, however, confused me greatly. Often I couldn't understand what was happening, or it felt too rushed. I'm hoping to come back to these stories again once I've read further into the series and have a better grasp of the world and the characters.
For now, I think I'll take a break from the book series to finally watch the show!
