When I tell you this is how a sequel should be I mean it. I finished the darn book less than 5 hours after finishing the first. I read fast but my god the way your heart wrenches at every freaking turn?! I couldn’t put it down. The twists and turns and yet still left me wanting more, but not in a way that hurts. One of the best series I’ve read to date.

This book was…good? Like I didn’t hate it. Definitely fell in love with Hawke, as a morally grey man I was here for it and gods that ENDING!? I’m definitely going to read the next books but it was good. Not the best. But good.

I Wanted to hate this book— but I was honestly so dang into it I couldn’t put it down and it had me feeling ALL the feelings.
We love a good enemies to lovers and this time was probably the one time I loved the miscommunication trope.

Well, wow. I mean I wish I truly had words for how much this book was a breath of fresh air.

The characters were fresh. They weren’t your typical run of the mill characters and they had such fun personalities

Erqis? An ass. A walking red-flag. Do I love him more than life and watching his and Neira relationship grow?
And Neira? Gods is she so fun to watch and have her go through everything she has.

The twists and turns of this book, the reluctant lovers and the just dark choices blew me away.

Must read of 2024. No doubt about it.
