This book was phenomenal. I loved it from the very first page. And what an ending!!!!
Even the blurbs set this book up to be something magical and amazing; A princess longing to be free... A bastard aching to belong... Fate brought them together, now destiny will tear them apart... Three shocking betrayals. Two star-crossed lovers. One unforgettable journey. If you like fierce heroines, brooding heroes, forbidden romance, and action-packed magical adventures with twists you'll never see coming,
I mean come on!!! What more can one person ask for in a book? I found the world building to be spectacular, the characters are people with bird wings, some have magic but are not allowed to have it and need to keep it secret or they are executed because its considered evil???? The 3 way love trope gets me a bit, not very fond of the whole betrothed to one brother but secretly in love with the other deal. And the secret spy childhood best friend was a bit of a low blow. But it really was a good story. I enjoyed it tremendously and cannot wait for the second book to come out this July.

I loved this so damn much. I absolutely love the anime series and was so surprised to see this available on the read now list that I snapped it up immediately. And in true Aggretsuko fashion, it did not disappoint. It was funny, cute, and hinted at current global topics. I had such a great time reading this graphic novel.

Thank you to Troubadour Publishing Ltd/Matador for a digital edition via NetGalley of ‘Midwinter Folk’ by Rebekah Clayton in exchange for an honest review.
When Rowan’s parents divorce, her brother Luke turns ‘cold and strange’, and suddenly Rowan starts hearing voices. Is someone stalking her or is she going mad? London is caught in the grip of the coldest winter on record. The Thames freezes over and the streets are half-buried by snow.
Rowan soon realises that Luke has been snared by the enemy; the voracious Hunters who want ‘power over all’, and finds that she is running for her life across the increasingly bizarre landscape of the frozen city. It takes a journey into the treacherous depths of Midwinter to save not only Luke, but all that she holds dear.
I really enjoyed this book. It has all the makings of a great adventure tale.
The pace was fast and the story flowed very well. The world building was by far the best part of this book. The reader was submerged into a wintery world.
The main character has a lot to deal with at such a young age but she develops well throughout the story.
I did however find that some characters just fell off the map and we don’t get any closure on them.
I really did enjoyed reading this book but felt that the target age group for this book may be a bit too young. There are definitely some dark and mature themes that would be considered inappropriate for a young audience.

This was a powerful read. It is an emotional and eye-opening look into the world of male anorexia. I felt so much emotion for the main character and the trials of his family. Definitely worth picking up

I really enjoyed this Victorian Era horror/paranormal story. A short and sweet tale of a medium who is swept up into a mysterious adventure in a haunted mansion. I loved the setting, the mystery behind the elusive Dr James, and his tragic past. This is perfect for Halloween and generally any time of the year when you want some spookiness in your reading life.

Synopsis
Six years ago, Anna Williams-straight-A student, cheerleader, and all-around golden child-vanished.
Ever since, her younger sister, Katie, has drifted through life, wracked with guilt, grief, and anger over Anna's unsolved disappearance. But when her own future reaches a breaking point, Katie takes the investigation into her own hands. She searches for answers in her sister's missing person's file and discovers that some questions aren't so easily answered.
Through police memos, interrogations, and excerpts from Anna's diary, Katie breaks down the carefully crafted façade Anna left behind and uncovers the dark truths of her life in the months before she vanished.
My Thoughts:
I loved the idea of this book, I really did. The addition of police reports, interview transcripts, and text messages really gave this the feeling of delving deep into the unsolved case of Anna's disappearance.
Katie as a character felt real, she is messy, broken, and trying desperately to come to terms with the loss of her sister.
I only had one issue and that was the unexplained reasons why Katie had problems with her dad and they go unanswered even till the end of the book. Why and what happened? if there was no answer to this then why add it to the plot of the book. It seemed unnecessary and pointless.
