"What effect do fairy tales we are told as children have on us?" - Kalynn Bayron  (Acknowledgements.)

Yes, what effect can a fairy tale have on us? And what effect can it have on a whole village? The story shows the extreme effect a fairy tale can have on people. Which is one of the reasons the story got me captivated. And really enjoyed how the author made the Cinderella story, to be more than just the prince, the ball, fairy godmother, the dress, and of course the famous glass shoes.

Important topics like women's rights selected brides who had no say in who they married and a tyrant rule had important roles in the story.

My favorite character is Constance. The lesbian love story was also one of the reasons I found the story really captivating and a really nice touch to the story.

As for giving it 3.25 stars, is because of the fact that I am slowly slipping away from YA, as doesn't give me the same excitement and joy as it did for me before.  Saying that, if I had read this book a couple of years ago, it would most likely have gotten 4 or 4.5 stars.

The ending was a little too easy to predict, but other then that, I really enjoyed the book 😊
