Over all I’d give fireborne 4 stars
I thought the world building was done well. It was present but easy to understand, it didn’t feel like info dumping.
I liked that it was duel POV. It didn’t feel as if one character was favoured over another, both Lee and Annie were well developed and I loved them both equally (I couldn’t choose who I wanted to be firstrider )
The whole cast of characters were complex, so it was hard to hate any of them. And surprisingly characters I originally did hate like Power ended up being some of my favourites (even though they aren’t necessarily good people?)
Over all I’ll definitely read the sequel and would recommend it, especially if you like dragons!

Defy the night was fast-paced with a cast of characters I loved.
I was immediately sucked into the book, so much so that it got me out of a 2 month reading slump!
I loved how the book equally focused on the plot of revolution, unease and fighting back as well as the characters personal problems and developments.
I was stuck on which side to stand on the whole book (that of the royals or the rebels) seeing as we got perspectives from both sides, which was one of my favourite parts of the book.
I liked that there was romance but it wasn’t the main plot.
I thought the world building was well done so that it wasn’t easy to understand and follow and no info dumping.
Over all I hope in the next two books we get to see more of some of the other characters such as Lochlan.
I can’t wait to finish the series!

Immortal consequences was my most anticipated book of the year and it did not disappoint.
I loved all six of the different POVS I thought that all their character voices were very distinct.
I thought there was a good balance of plot and character development. The world building was easy to follow and interesting to read about - no large info dumps.
The only thing I found to be slightly disappointing was the rivals to lovers aspect, as it didn’t really feel like Wren and August were really rivals in the time of which the story took place.
Over all I really enjoyed immortal consequences and will be continuing the series! I fully recommend

It followers are main character wren who is a mod- somebody with mind control powers. The mods are hunted by the military so they must keep their abilities a secret. Wren ends up being forced to join this elite military training program where she decides to try and take it down from the inside.
Silver elite is supposed to be a dystopian X romance book, yet I felt like there was hardly any political aspects to this book and the romance fell flat. There is 501 pages in this book, we meet the love interest on page 8… it’s supposed to be an enemy’s to lovers but other than their contrasting beliefs they weren’t actually enemies.
I thought all of the characters were poorly developed, wrens only personality trait being that she ‘isn’t like other girls’ and the only thing to Cross’ character was that he was the love interest. I genuinely couldn’t have cared less about any of the characters.
This personally felt like a poor developed fantasy book instead of a dystopian story, because as I already said there was hardly any political aspects to it at all.
One of the things I found hugely weird about the book was the glorification of slave labour camps. In silver elite there is a scene in which Wrens childhood best-friend and father are caught for being and assisting mods. They are to face execution but Wren offers them a deal she secured for them to instead be sent to slave labour camps… this is what she went on to say about the camps ‘They work twelve-hour days out there. I've seen photos of the women's quarters. They look comfortable. Everyone gets leisure time. The food seems decent.
But a gilded cage is still a cage.’
I personally found this to be a really odd way of describing a labour camp, especially in a dystopian book, because there is no world where labour camps are justifiable or comfortable.
Over all I thought ‘Silver elite’ was poorly developed, badly written with some strange messages. I definitely won’t be continuing the series or recommending It

I think the concept of ‘not quite dead yet’ was really interesting. I thought the ending was well suited to the book. Honestly I wasn’t obsessed with the characters, they were fun to read about but won’t stick with me. Which is why I rated it 4 stars. Otherwise though I really enjoyed the book, I think that it was easy to read, and didn’t fall off in any section of the story. While I wasn’t obsessed with the characters I did think that complex relationships were displayed well. Over all I enjoyed it and would recommend.

The raven scholar is probably my favourite read this year. It’s an epic fantasy with flawed characters so perfectly portrayed so that it’s difficult to hate anyone. I loved all the complex character relationships, these were some of the best developed characters I’ve read about in a long time. The world building was also well executed, time was given to it and yet it didn’t feel boring to read about it. I genuinely loved everything about it and will 100% be continuing the series!
