A true friends-to-lovers romance. I liked that the scenes change between now and a few summers ago and how you can see the way, their relationship developed over the years. I was hoping for a less obvious plot twist, but nevertheless this is a great romance book and the characters don‘t feel as flat as in some other romance novels. They also both have their flaws and I like that they don‘t seem perfect for each other at first glance.

The beginning felt very dragged and the story took quite a while to get interesting, although the first book is mostly like this in fantasy series, so I kind of expected it. The second half of the book was a lot more interesting, although the character of Feyre still felt a bit flat to me. I have high hopes that the next books of the series will get better though, so I am definitely excited to continue reading it.

The first 150 pages of the book were quite boring, after that it got better, although I really thought this was going to be a light beach read and not a murder mystery. A lot of the times the story felt very forced and I was thinking about dnf-ing the book, but in the end the fact that I wanted to know who was the murder made me continue reading.

I liked the idea of the book and the roadtrip vibes, but I really couldn‘t make myself feel connected to the characters. The relationship between the characters felt really flat and I don‘t really understood her reasons to hate him in the first place.

The writing style of this book is similar to the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, because it is written as if it were an interview. As always, the character building in this book is amazing. I actually had to google, whether the band existed in real life or not, because they felt so real. If you are in the mood to read about a rock band in the 60s, the relationships between the members, as well as their relationship to drugs, fame and the music industry, then this is the book for you!
