I loved this book! The main character is very endearing; Clarke does a very good job at making his character sympathetic even in isolation (so we don’t get much from his interaction with other people).

The idea of ritual whether for personal gain or practice is a major theme of this novel. What faith can look like in isolation vs the story of an occultist who manipulated his followers.

Won’t hear a Fleetwood Mac song the same ever again.

Taylor Jenkins Reed is a master at creating lovable characters. I was caring about characters I wish I didn’t care about, but they’re all so easy to root for.

Super misogynistic, not in the mood! Like how the characters think about art though.
