The writing of this book is gorgeous and I really liked the first half of the stories. Then it started to get confusing and somewhat pointless in my opinion. Overall it is very reflective and sometimes I felt very conected to some of the characters. Really good!

I totally respect the kink but reading about it gave me the ick. Also the book felt very flat and I didn't connect with Jo at all-- in my head she sounds robotic and expressionless...

Hmmm... what the actual f did I just read? The book felt very flat 95% of the time and then
people started forgeting their own body parts???
??? Am I stupid so as to be missing the moral of the story here? I'm very confused. Also I found some editing issues in the book. For example, in one chapter, the fruits disappear, but then the woman talks about making a strawberry cake, and in another chapter, someone gifts her apples, which felt inconsistent to me. What kept me reading was the anticipation for something significant to occur, but unfortunately, nothing did. I felt disappointed because the book had a promising premise, but it ended up feeling flat and uninteresting. It felt strange in a way that didn't captivate me, unlike many other eccentric Japanese books I've read.

One thing I liked about the book was the characters. I especially enjoyed the old man and the relationship that develops between him and the main character. It was lovely and very heartwarming.

Another positive aspect is that the book is beautifully written, although there are some holes in the story. This is something I sometimes enjoy more than the plot itself.

Overall, I can only say that I will no longer be reading booktok recommendations 😂

I love Edward. Still hope to marry him someday. Don't  love his history tho, although is nice to get to know him and his motivations, his depressing perception of himself... which explains why the poor man is so whining I think. Also the fact the he would stalk me before we got married and treat me like I was made of sugar kinda bothers me... still love him tho!

Ironically, no words can translate my feelings for this book.
