As sweet as sweet can be. Tova and Marcellus captured my attention and my heart right away. I was less enamored with Cameron and struggled to understand why everybody else was. His character could have been better developed. Overall, I adored it. Clever and emotional and delightfully delivered.

A poetic, earnest message about the urgency with which we need each other in movements.

Funny, lovely, tender, and wholehearted. Meaningful without being completely gut-wrenching. A good book to snuggle up with and get lost in without getting emotionally wrecked.

This was a quick, enticing read. At times, connections between characters seemed rushed and underdeveloped. It was challenging to get through at points because I was anxious for April the entire time.

I adored this book. I'm humbled and grateful by how much I learned about the deaf community. Novic writes with such artistry and tenderness. She holds the violence, wonder, and nuance of cure magnificently.

I adored this book. It dragged on a bit too long, but I think that may have been part of the intention? To feel the almost tedious anxiety and struggle that Benny and Annabelle feel in their daily life. Occasionally, the format threw me off. I think the premise is genius though, and it really made me think differently about grief, trauma, and mental illness. Fabulous character development and gorgeous writing.
