A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing by Eimear McBride

the idea of writing a book in this fractured, half-formed way is interesting and definitely can be effective, but i don’t know if i liked it. it became tedious real fast

Woman, Eating by Claire Kohda

i feel conflicted about it, maybe because i gulped it down in two days and didn’t give myself time to savor this book, but i am left with a feeling that something was missing from it, that it’s lacking some depth and feels more like a rough sketch than a finished work?
i loved the discussion of art, identity, race, relationships with our parents etc. just wished there was more of it, and less ben:)

Penance by Eliza Clark
true crime is truly abhorrent and so-so insidious, it’s crazy that it’s a genre at all. my fucking god this book is so well-written and thought-provoking
