This took me forever to read. Not because I wasn't enjoying it, but I always have such a hard time getting into King Arthur retellings. I'm so glad I stuck with this though because the last 30% I was locked in. Bree was a great MC and I'm excited to see her grow in the following books. I wasn't 100% on board with Selwyn, but he grew on me towards the end. I can't wait to pick up book two.

This was so much fun! I was super excited to receive this arc and I'm really happy with how much I enjoyed it. The writing doesn't start out the strongest, but I feel like the author found a good rhythm a few chapters in. There were a few cliché moments, but what fantasy doesn't have a cliché or two. I found myself really liking the side characters, especially Rogue. The dynamics between all the characters were great and it was interesting seeing how things unfolded. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this series continues!

Because I didn't know anything about Michelle before reading this, I wasn't sure how much I'd like it. But I enjoyed reading this so much. It was heartbreaking and frustrating and informative and I loved getting this glimpse into Michelle's life.

I won't like, this took me FOREVER to get into. Knowing this was a Reylo fanfiction first made a lot of sense because of how confusing things were in the beginning. I don't mind fanfiction being turned into novels, but this started out rough. There was so much plot happening and so many unfamiliar terms that I had no real idea what was going on. This novel definitely could have benefitted from more world building in the first half. Or at least a glossary in the beginning so I knew who was what leader. That said, after 40% of the novel, I was hooked. I wasn't anticipating the turn this book took but I had a lot of fun with the idea. I'm looking forward to seeing how Alaric and Talasyn try and outmaneuver each other in the next book.

I loved about 50-60% of this. When their relationship started to develop I found myself not loving the pacing. I will probably pick up the sequel because I did overall enjoy it. But I am a bit disappointed that I didn't love this fully.

Oh I loved this. I definitely wish that I had reread Heartless Hunter before diving into this one, but I had so much fun getting back into Rune and Gideon's story. Their dynamic and will they, won't they is top notch. And their banter is *chef's kiss*. I wish there story had been a little longer only because I didn't want it to end.

This book just wasn't it for me. I don't know if it was the audiobook I just didnt love or the plot in general, but I found myself just listening to it just to finish it. There were moment I enjoyed, but I also found the plot clunky.

What a whirlwind this book was. There were times when I was frustrated with Zarrah's internal monologue but I definitely understood where she was coming from. I really loved seeing everyone come together in this and I think it was a fitting end for Keris and Zarrah. Now to wait patiently for book 5.
