A truly precious book, full of lessons we all need to be reminded of from time to time, told simply yet deeply and complemented by lovely illustrations.

An interesting story, in dire need of a good proofreader - there are typos, missing and superfluous words, the tenses are all over the place, and the spelling goes back and forth between British and American. The story was still captivating enough for me to read to the end, but I was glad to finish it.

"Jenna was "woke" enough to know you shouldn't assume a person's gender, even if they have been dead for centuries and they invariably conformed to expectations back then. Jenna realised she was looking forward to her sociology course. There you could be as judgmental as you liked".
What kind of rubbish is this? There were a few lines like this earlier in the book too, also in relation to Jenna (one of the main characters, about to start college), which just left me with an unpleasant feeling that the author doesn't really like or understand young people. So why make a young person the protagonist whom we're supposed to be cheering on through an adventure?!
Also, people didn't "invariably conform to [gender] expectations" at any point in history. :sigh:
