It started off somewhat slow and flat. It's no WOOL, I say to myself. Who is this character? Why should I care? Its transitions are rough at times. But the reader's trust in the author is well rewarded as all these odd characters are added to the ensemble along the way. The story grows in intensity. You find yourself caring about these characters. You are another passenger in the Parsona. The story is especially well constructed and allows the reader to create fantastic vistas in their imagination. The book ends with a cliffhanger that makes the reader immediately binge-start the second book. With this series, Hugh Howey firms up his place among the finest living science fiction authors. May it be turned into a movie franchise.
pretty good space action stuff but lots of gore. Eager to find out what happens in book 2...
