Minor spoilers
This is more like 3.75 for me. I really really enjoyed a lot of elements in the book but for some reason I wasn't able to fully get into the book like I normally do so that makes me think this is more of a me issue than any issue with the book that prevented it from being a 4 for me.
The book is about Arden who is kidnapped from the mortal realm and is taken to the FAE world by two strangers after they revealed to her that her fiancé is not who he says he is and has lied to her for the last 10 years. The reason for taking her was for revenge against her fiancé and his sins against the Fae. However, this kidnapping to the Fae world sets off a chain of events that not only leads to her going to a new world full of wonders she had never seen before, but it also brings out into the light secrets about Arden and her past/family that she had no idea about.
I really enjoyed Arden and how strong she was even when she was thrown into a new world that she had no idea existed. She never took anything laying down. All of the mates were interesting and complex in their feelings about the mate bonds that it made for an interesting read. I will say I struggled liking Zorvan as I think the author wrote him a little too well as an ass. While he has his own issues with Arden, his past and her past it which make sense when we learn them it also sometimes seemed like he was around every corner waiting to slut shame her for even looking or hugging these other men who Zorvan knew were her mate as well. While she may have been unaware of the mate bond, he fully knew what was going on and was slut shaming her when really, he was just jealous of her budding relationships with the other mates. He did have some redeemable moments where he let her take charge and even encourage her and supported her when it came to some of the decisions, she made but it again just seemed like the next time we would see him he would have taken 5 steps back and fallen back on slut shaming her.
I liked the twists in this book, and I liked the cliff hanger as well and I am interested in the 2nd book and would defiantly read it. I think with the way this book ended that in the 2nd book when it comes out will have a redemption for him and his relationship with Arden that could easily make it a 4 if it done as well as this book. For a debut novel the author did a great job all around as it was an easy read with some good twists and character backgrounds/developments.

Fracture by RD Baker
4.25
This is a 4.25 for me
This was so good and had my full attention from the first chapter. This is the 2nd book I have read of RD Baker's and damn she can write. I will say while there is spice in this book, I personally wouldn't call it a super spicy book and it is more of a thriller and wow did this book take me on a ride. As you read this book more and more are uncovered about each of the characters (Dylan, Levi and Stella) and none of them had it easy at all but god the things Stella went through from when she was a child just breaks your heart. All I wanted to do was wrap her in blankets and hugs and then go out and help Dylan and Levi in whatever they needed. I honestly don't know how Stella was able to function like she did and go to law school and just be the amazing person she was. I loved the dynamic between the three of them, but I will say the first couple chapters I were just screaming just talk to one another! just talk! Between the two MMC I couldn't choose one or the other as I liked them both and thankfully this is a why choose so I don't have too. Dylan and Levi are super protective of her and are dark knights willing to do anything to keep her safe and I mean anything. But they also cared for each other and so it was def more of a throuple between them all than a why choose where one FMC hold the focus in the dynamic. I really appreciated that honestly.
As I said this is my 2nd RD Baker book, but she is fast becoming an auto signup/buy author. I am definitely enjoying her writing, and I honestly could have read this all-in-one day.
Pay attention to the triggers especially if you don't like references to past grooming of a child and it leading to SA.
This book is about Stella who is welcoming her BF and her Stepbrother back home after they have been in prison for the last 10 years. For 10 years she waited for them and hopes they have waited for her as well. But 10 years have passed and none of them are the same people they were as teenagers, and Stella fears they will see how broken she is and how much she has changed and decide to move on. But as they live together feelings like the ones Stella suppressed about her stepbrother start to surface. But Stella is not the only one with feelings for someone that they shouldn't. So, with all these feelings being pushed down and living in such tight quarters how long will it be before someone finally breaks and admits to what they are feeling? Especially when the reasons for the boys going to prison are still lurking and waiting for the chance to destroy the three of them. They will have to come together and rely on one another as they work together on destroying these monsters once and for all.
I received an arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

Kept In The Dark by Crystal J. Johnson, Felicity Vaughn
3.5
This is a 3.5 for me. This book had some interesting twists and turns and that's for sure. There are two potential love interests the bodyguard who she had a crush on growing up and is her father's best friend or the mysterious masked man she met at a Halloween party who may be in fact her stalker who is getting more unhinged in the crazy letters being left behind. You don't know who she might end up with at the start but then as things progress things start to get weird with both guys and one or maybe both might have it out for her made things interesting.
Now as this is a novella there isn't a lot of time to go into backgrounds or have character development, but it was still an entertaining, spicy read that was a good way to close out the spooky season.
This book is about Vai who is the daughter of a rockstar and is trying to rehabilitate her wild child bad girl image while being on tour with her father. But during her father's Halloween Party a masked Ghost Faced Man approached her for a dance and she just couldn't say no. As they dance things get out of hand and they have a wild sexy encounter. But with the next morning along with some regrets over what she did she is now confronted with the prospect of a stalker. One who has been leaving increasingly disturbing notes that are concerning her father so much that she now has a personal bodyguard who is none other than Greyson, her father's best friend and longtime bodyguard who she had a childhood crush on. But even under the hot watchful eye of Greyson her masked man keeps turning up giving her these wild moments that make her less interested in being a good girl. But with increasingly scary letters and her masked man turning up everywhere she is starting to wonder if her masked man is in fact her stalker who might be more dangerous than she thought.

Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
4.0
For a debut novel based off a tik tok story this was really well done. I really enjoyed it. This is a villain story if the title didn't give it away and there is mention of his evil deeds and the aftermath is shown but there are no true torture scenes. I was able to get my hands on a copy as Barns and Noble said the publisher was allowing them to put it out before the release date. I will say some parts feel a little disjointed in my opinion that the writing didn't connect to the next scene, but it was very small, and I am sure that will be ironed out as she writes more. There is a small reoccurring mention of a pass attempted assault so keep that in mind. I really did enjoy the characters especially the villain as he struggles with these feelings, he doesn't know how to identify because he hasn't really felt them before. Very much a grumpy/sunshine book which has some cute and funny moments. Not a lot a triggers outside of what I mentioned. I would say this is a slow burn as well with a cliff hanger that does make me excited to read the next book. I will also say without spoiling it that the "traitor" in the story actually surprised me and was not who I thought it was.
Craving the Alien Vampire by Ro Singh
4.0
This is a very fast passed novella that was a very easy and enjoyable read. It starts off with the FMC who has been abducted by some aliens who made a deal with her boyfriend on earth for special alien technology. She is then to be sold at auction. While waiting to be sold she stands up for another alien who is also be sold at auction, but this leads to her being beat up by her captors. When it comes time for her to be sold as she is standing up there covered in bruises, she catches the eye of the MMC Torin. They actually catch each other's eye. Torin is there on behalf of his captain to find out what happened to the captain's brother who may have been sold at a similar auction.
He ends up bidding and winning Maya who the FMC. After the auction he is taken to a room where she is waiting. Almost immediately things get steamy/spicy with them. This is definitely an insta-Lust book as they didn't even exchange names and she actually doesn't even know what her buyer is going to do with her, but she has a connection to him and gives in to that. They don't go all the way, but things definitely heat up. He also notices the bruises on her and asked who did it and when she tells him he tracks him down and deals with him... permanently. However, this pisses off the man in charge as that was his son and demands the girl back but Torin claims this woman is his wife and thus can't be given back as she now has the protection of the intergalactic alliance which earth is not a member of.
This leads them to agreeing to get married officially in name only for her protection.
This is a fast passed novel where the rest of the story is the dealing with their feelings in what they think is a marriage of convivence. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for anyone looking for a quick read.

Hold On by Tierney Eddy, Tierney Eddy

This is a dark, emotional rollercoaster rockstar dark romance. There are a lot of trigger warnings so please make sure to check them at the front of the book as your mental health and personal limits matter. This book is about two high schoolers who meet in detention and unbeknownst to the FMC Alina by introducing herself to Bash she ends up saving his life. It turns out in detention that day he had made the decision to kill himself. This is because Bash comes from an extremely abusive household where his father abuses him, and his mother does little to help if anything makes excuses. The reason Alina is able to change his mind is that it is her 18th bday and she has no plans to celebrate so she ends up inviting him out to celebrate and it's during this night he changes his mind and that he wants to live and experience life with her. However, after a whirlwind romance a couple weeks later she texts him goodbye and disappears with her family.
Bash goes on to be a rockstar and a few years later is kicked off his own tour because of his drug use. At this point his father is dead and so he goes home where he has bought a house for his mother. He decides to go out that night and goes to a local bar when who does he see walk out but the girl he never forgot.
Now Alina's circumstances have changed. The reason she and her family moved is that her brother committed suicide and they packed up and moved as they were unable to deal with it. Then her mother dies leaving just her and her father who move back to town. Unfortunately, her father had a secret gambling addiction and in order to pay his massive debts he sells her to a man who now makes her sell herself to help pay off her father's debt. So, on this particular night as she is walking to the back of a bar to service a client who starts to get rough with her after she starts to become emotionally about her situation and starts to contemplate suicide herself. It is then she is rescued by Bash who kicks the shit out of her client and then takes her home.
This story continues with them dealing with their own traumas, the past, the Alina's situation with her "boss" and work and then them deciding they need to take care of her boss.... permanently. This book is rough emotionally and is a very dark book. These characters are flawed, morally grey and I loved! At moments it was tough to read but the satisfaction I felt at the end when they achieved their goal made it all worth it.

Sinister Purpose: A Rockstar Sequel by Tierney Eddy
4.0
This may contain SOME but not all spoilers.
This is the sequel to hold on which I found to be a dark and twisted read and this one is darker and much more twisted, and I loved it even more than the first. This book picks up 2 years after the first book and Bash and Alina have been traveling all over Europe. You would think after dealing with Alina's boss in the previous book and all the traveling they have done they would be happy and content with their lives. However, while Bash has become very dominate in their relationship but he now becoming more aggressive, controlling and degrading and pushing Alina's boundaries she has set within this dynamic all while closing himself off from her. This makes her feel less safe and wonders if she traded one evil overlord for another potential overlord.
However, we learn that Bash has still not learned to cope with the trauma from the abuse he received as a child where he felt helpless, but he has recently had a dream that brings to the forefront of his mind where his previously mentioned assault on tour where he was too fucked up as he said to prevent it. That feeling of helplessness and rage combined with the trauma of his childhood has led his to want to control every part of their relationship and to lash out when he doesn't get it.
This book starts off in a Pub where Bash has decided to do a surprise performance as he misses music, but he has one request for Alina. While he is performing for the pub and all eyes are on him, he wants her to perform for him by masturbating. While she is reluctant, she does agree and when the show starts, she starts to get into it. However, she looks around at one point and realizes another patron a man in the bar is watching her and starts to masturbate as well, freaking her out causing her to run back to the hotel as she now feels dirty.
Bash sees what went on and finishes the show, tracks down the man and stabs him in the hand and then proceeds to drink. When he gets back to the hotel room he lashes out at Alina, and they get in a fight where he pushes her out of the way on the way to the bathroom and she hurts herself falling into the door frame.
It is after this that Alisha decides she wants to go home as she needs stability and Bash who receives a call from his old agent telling him his label saw the show and wants him to do a mini tour. Bash thinks this is perfect as he only thinks his worth is as a musician and he also thinks that Alina and he need a break. While back in the states at his house he is preparing for his tour while Alina deals with the fact he is leaving her behind. It is at this time that while working with his old PR agent that they start sexting back and forth. Just before he leaves on the tour, he tells Alina what has happened, and they break up and even though Bash still loves her and is upset by what has happened he continues to sext and eventually while on tour hook up with his PR Rep.
Alina Left behind has to deal with her feelings about not just what happened but also the past as well. She ends up turning to her friend Gloria who becomes her lover. It is during this time that Bash has started spiraling out of control drinking, doing drugs and sleeping not just with this PR Rep but also random women. He sinks so low that just 2 weeks before the tour ends he reaches out to Alina for help and talk about after the tour that they are going to get him help. His last show is in their town, and they meet up and pick up where they left off. But she is still with Gloria even though they are not exclusive. After the show and being together Bash has to meet up with his manager for his check. It is during this meeting that Bash is drugged by his manager who with the PR Rep sexually assault him. Bash disappears after breaking up with Alina for good for 5 Years. It is then he is forced to see her as mutual friends are concerned for her and need his help since she is why she has hit rock bottom almost. So, he attends her Halloween party dressed and masked as Batman. It is here where he renews his obsession for her and begins to stalk her.
All of this is before I even hit 50% of the book!!!! So, trust me this doesn't spoil even half of this book. This book was such an emotional roller coaster, and the characters were even more interesting to read this time as we delve more into their trauma's where at some points you may not like the characters, but you are still routing for them. If anyone likes a laundry list for their trigger warnings, then this book is for you. It was a great read, and I would recommend it for anyone who likes really dark romances where you have a love/hate relationship with the characters but still want them to end up happy in the end.

For the Love of Cupidity by Raven Kennedy
5.0
This a novella for the heart hassle series which takes place a few years after the battle where the rebellion won against the evil prince. They now have a winged genfin daughter who is 2 years old, and she is currently pregnant about to have another baby. She is just living life with her mates who seem to have adjusted to life after the war to family life. That is except Ohkat who sometimes has flashbacks and regrets what he did to Emelle when he was under the prince's control.
Emelle is still head of cupids and has adjusted to her roll and the more responsibilities though lately they have been made more difficult as her assistant Lex hasn't recovered from the loss of the horned hook.
This means that more duties are falling on Emelle like training the reject cupids. It is during this training that Emelle has to prepare for a dinner with her in-laws one of who really dislikes her and accuses her of using her cupid powers to trick her son. But Emelle is trying to work her charm to win her over.
The rest of the book has Emelle helping out the Genfin community with the help of her cupid rejects and she goes into labor which has more than a few surprises.
This book as all the others is a fun read with great spice. One thing I appreciated is due to limitations within the stories of the last books we never got a spicy moment with all the mates and this book has that. I enjoyed reading about all the old and new characters and would 100% recommend the series.

Forgotten Vows by Gayla J Reel, Brandi Reed
3.5
Received this as an ARC read but my review will be honest. **SOME spoilers**
If the rating system would have allowed it, I would have given the book a 3.5. It is a second chance romance with amnesia and dark secrets within a married couple who have gotten divorced. The book starts off with Ben the MMC receiving a call that his ex-wife has been in a car accident in Texas. He immediately drops everything to be by her side as she is in a sedated/medically induced coma. However, the DR does say that will survive just a long recovery. Eventually, Chelsea FMC wakes up, but it turns out she has amnesia and the last think she can remember is her freshman year in college a year before she met Ben. That makes it about 7-8 years she has lost.
It's when she wakes up that the nurses introduce this strange man as her husband, but he is quick to inform her that he is in fact her ex-husband and they haven't spoken in months as they are not on good terms, but he was listed as her emergency contact as her husband. During her stay in the hospital Ben recounts for her how they met and even how their marriage ended (not going to spoil that). She does regain one memory as she is checked out of the hospital, and they slowly do start coming back to her giving her time to look back on things like an outsider instead of being in the heat of things. Ben is still with her at this point and helps get her settled in their old home that she still lives in. He is careful and thoughtful to not cross any boundaries even though he still has feelings for her but doesn't want her to feel manipulated or taken advantage of when she regains her memories.
This is a very sweet story and Ben was such a sweetheart who was always trying to do the right thing and even said at one point if he could change anything it would be that they never ended. He even sleeps on the floor when she has a bad memory return while sleeping rather than share a bed which he felt was inappropriate at the time. There is loads more to the story and how she reconnects with friends, regains her memories the good and the bad which include a dark secret which may have pushed her into getting a divorce. This book does end on a cliff hanger.
I will say the reason I didn't give it a 4 and personally think this is a 3.5 (even though I could only mark it as a 3) is that at times where the writing is a little disjointed and there are skips in the writing. For example, one paragraph the characters are talking in a kitchen, but the very next paragraph be on the beach with no connection or explanation for the shift. I also found it at time the dialog to be a little confusing as there would be a group of statements, but it wasn't saying who was saying what. So, I would have to read it 2-3 times to figure out based on context who was saying what. BUT these are things that I think that will be improved upon as she continues to write and publish her stories. It is a major undertaking to write and publish a book so I applaud the author(s) for taking this leap and I am sure these are things that again will be smoothed out over the next couple books.

Repossess My Heart by Callie Moss
5.0
Some Spoilers
OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK! This was a book I didn't know I needed, and I am so glad the author wrote it and loved every minute of it. This book was inspired by Repo the Genetic Opera which is a movie I Love!
The premise is this world is broken up into three sections (Above, Below and The Down). This mainly takes place in the below sector where everyone lives in poverty just struggling to survive especially those weight down by their debts of new organs or body parts/modifications. All usually financed and when they can't afford to pay their debts well in comes the repo man to take it back. (anyone else who watched the movie hear that in the narrator's voice?). This story is about Reverie who is an unchipped (undocumented) person hiding in the below who received a replacement heart as a baby and is years behind on her debt. She has kept hidden for most of her life in her apartment first by her mother who died and then her care BOT (robotic companion) who continued to keep her hidden from the world using extreme measures. However, Her BOT Cece eventually broke down but before it did, she installed illegal tech in Reverie that acted as a sort of warning device for danger at times. That along with her never leaving her home except to work and being extremely careful has allowed her to evade the repo men. That is until one day one her way home she is recorded by a NARC bot and her image is transmitted to a repo man by the name of 9.
This repo man develops an immediate obsession with her because of her beauty but especially because of her eyes which are beautiful but at the same time he hates them because they are dead, and he wants them to be alive when he takes them for his collection. Thats right along with needing to repo her heart he also wants to take her eyes to display them. So, he begins to stalk her and eventually kidnaps her. This is all before 30% of the book!!!!
This book is an emotional rollercoaster of dealing with the darkness of 9, Reviere's desire now that she's been caught to just end it all and their twisted desire for each other and their coming together to heal not just each other but also bring down the corrupt people who maintain the divide between the levels. I loved Reviere who even when she wanted to die pushed 9 and fought back. I thought she was a very strong FMC who also just wanted to be set free and 9 even at his worst had moments of dark humor slip through (probably unintentionally) that made him likable. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone, and I will be buying a physical copy for my shelves.
