Stray Dogs by Tony Fleecs

I came at this as a Hannibal fan having seen the Silence of the Lambs cover and getting Will Graham vibes from the dog hoarding. It made me think of fanfics told from the perspective of Will's dog, Winston. Of course, once you crack the cover, that's not what this is and I hadn't really expected it to be.

I absolutely loved this story. The sympathetic characters combined with mystery and intrigue make for compulsive reading. And whilst there is an eventual happy ending for (most of) the dogs, the memory losses leave you with a bitter-sweet, almost haunted feeling.

A fantastic and gripping read!

I possibly would have given this more stars, however, I am not really the intended audience - I have no love for poetry and no real grasp on how I would critique it.

So I can't comment on the *quality* of the poetry, but I can say that even as someone who doesn't particularly enjoy poetry, I enjoyed this collection. I would definitely recommend it, but especially to lovers of poetry, who might get more out of the format/genre than I did.

There is a mixture of whimsy and something a little darker which often goes with all forms of queer literature. My two favourite pieces were "A Child Comes Out as a Merman" and "Last time my Lover came Inside me", both of which really resonated with something deeper that queer people can relate to. A really wonderful collection over all.

This is a collection of one page autobiographical comics about the joyful experiences of being transgender. Immediately I was drawn to this, not just as a trans person, but as someone who would rather talk about the euphoria rather than the dysphoria.

This is a really lovely book that you can dip in an out of. There are some very personal experiences here that will resonate with many trans and non-binary readers. I'm grateful to everyone who shared their story in this beautiful work.

In this volume Timon Singh has managed to track down some recognisable names and faces or some of the classics of cinema. Overall, it's a fantastic read. There are some great individual interviews, but it's also fascinating to read about their shared experiences with actors of note, forming a much bigger picture of a certain time in Hollywood.

I bought this book for the Andy Robinson interview in particular and was not disappointed! But all were entertaining, even the ones with actors I was less familiar with. I will say that the interview with Jack O'Halloran will stick with me, I didn't have much knowledge of him as a person beyond some of his roles, and now I do 0_0

The art history we deserved is an apt tagline. This is a truly beautiful book with great representation (that could arguably have been pushed further but it's clear that each individual artists was trying to capture it).

The artist's information on their work makes the art all the stronger. It's wonderful to read about their inspiration and the reasons behind some of the details. There are quite a number I'd love to buy and put up on my wall.

This is a really lovely volume with some very heart felt stories.

The comics are all beautifully illustrated in a way that further allows the reader to get a feel for the artist and their experience.

My personal favourite was "Sweet Nips" by Lucas the nifty fox. It resonated with me on a personal level, but also was a nice addition to stories that were largely otherwise concerning the start of people's journeys.

To that end, my only (slight) criticism would be that it would have been nice to have more variety in that regard, but I so appreciate the artists for sharing those journeys with us.

I really did enjoy this story, it's sweet and all the characters are interesting.

My only criticism is getting to the end and still having absolutely no idea why they broke up in the first place. That in itself might have led me to give 4 stars, but I'm giving only 3 because I was then also left with this feeling at the end of wondering why they then got back together. Not knowing why they broke up and what their previous relationship was like, I had no idea whether it was a good or healthy thing that they rekindled their romance and that left me in limbo at the end of the book.

A shame, as I otherwise really enjoyed this and would definitely read more from the author!

I really enjoyed this. In part because it has an ending that I suspect most won't expect. I especially enjoyed that there was a happy ending for Melanie if not for everyone else.

There were some really beautiful phrases and imagery in here, but sometimes the exposition was a little clunky. Overall, an interested premise that was delivered on well.

I really loved this volume. All the stories were a hit for me, and all brought a little joy (although sometimes bitter sweet).

I'm not personally of a Christian faith, but Adam & Eve by G.C Houle stood out as a really emotional and beautiful story. And the beautifully joyful Four Season by Andromeda Star and Alina Wahab was absolutely the perfect story to close out the volume.

Absolutely recommend this to all 18+ readers!
