Thank you Sara Hamdan, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to listen and review this ALC. Hamdan has a natural and authentic voice, which was able to merge the challenges facing families for generations after fleeing a war torn homeland and coming to the states without documentation with the prejudices, racism, and sexism that is encountered daily in America while keeping us entertained and fascinated by an uncovering of the MCs family history all while also discovering herself. Really loved the narration on this one, too!

Thank you to NetGalley, M Stevenson, and Macmillan Audio for the chance to listen and review this ALC. To start with the positives, the narration was very well done, and the concept was really interesting. But unfortunately that’s kind of where I leave it. If the narration wasn’t so well done, I’d probably have lost interest. The pacing of this book was funky, and I just didn’t really vibe with the story overall.

Thank you Tarah DeWitt, Macmillan Audio, and Netgalley. There was NOTHING about this book that I didn't love. The characters were perfect, the story was beautiful, the family - by blood, marraige, and finding was perfect. The second chance, the 3rd act tease, the HEA... it was all just perfect. And Connor Crais and Megan Wicks did an amazing job with the narration. I will definitely recommend this one!

Thank you to Marisa Kanter, Netgalley, and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review this ALC. I really enjoyed this ARC and I have to say the narration was perfection. Gail Shalan and GM Hakim did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life and elevated the experience quite a bit. I always appreciate a story where the main character's disability or health issues are centered because it feels so much more like real life. I am also a sucker for those sweet second chances and friends to lovers stories, so this one really delivered for me.

Thank you NetGalley, Stephanie Perkins, and Macmillan Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
I absolutely adored this cozy romance story. I loved the characters, I was entranced by the library/bookstore vibes and setting, and I truly cared what happened to them. I was all in for the entire time I read this book.. my only real critique though, and cause for being a 4 star instead of a 5 star read, was that I felt the end was rushed… and a bit abrupt. I wanted some real closure and maybe an epilogue of life afterwards… where is Macon’s mom, how does life look after they finally figure it all out etc…

This was a tragic and super impactful story filled with trauma, coping, resilience and survival... a story about an incident that should never happen, but happens far too often anyways. A story that young people and adults can all relate to or knows someone who can... It brings to light the importance of understanding consent, and not having that right to consent stolen from you. I thought this was engaging, well-written, and absolutely heartbreaking.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. If the pace moved a bit faster and more of the unknowns were answered, I'd be more motivated to pursue the rest of the series but this left so much unanswered but yet was filled with details that probably could have been abridged... just felt a bit unbalanced. That said, I think the setting and the story were super interesting and I really WANT to like this one more than I did.

Thank you Macmillan Audio, Jeanine Cummins, and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this ALC. What a stunning story of generational trauma, challenges, and overcoming of deep obstacles. The incredible love that was felt in every separate piece of this book within each segmented timeline. The characters, while they didn't always like each other, were so very clearly a loving and caring family. I really enjoyed this book, even the hard parts, and the narration was quite well done as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed this audio. I thought the narration was well done and engaging.
The story was also keeping me locked in. I’m usually not a fan of the
accidental pregnancy
trope but I didn’t mind it here. I also usually find
long distance relationships
to be hit or miss, but again - this one kept me entertained. I did find the dynamic between the niece of the FMC and brother of the MMC situation to be awkward and almost unnecessary. All in all though, I enjoyed this one.

Thank you Mia Rosette & NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.
WHAT I LIKED: This was a nice opening story for this girl group. Efforts to he “sex positive” and anti-slut shaming. A quick read with quirky and endearing female characters (mostly).
WHAT I DIDNT LIKE: Every male character was THE WOOOOORST. Despite attempting to be a liberated female, the FMC still sort of grapples with negative self-thoughts and thinking something is wrong with her. The ending felt abrupt and unfinished.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Will I read the rest of the series… probably.
*note this is an arc so nothing was deducted for this but, I hope there’s a good editor because there were quite a few issues in this ARC file.
