This book is a good story in thriller and psychological mystery genre. I loved the twist, even though I felt like I could see it coming after getting to a certain point. The writing was good, and yet, I was sad that it went that way.
This story is a good mix of romance with fun. It is heartwarming to me, and made me believe in love. This story even though feel like nothing new is there, it is the chemistry of the main leads with witty banter and flirting and caring for each other made this book endearing to me. The parents and siblings and the other relatives are also good-natured, albeit they are bad in good way. The obstacles to the relationship feels like it could be overtaken, but yet, the vulnerability of the characters and their characterisation and them going through the obstacles make it new. I likes this story.
This is what I wanted from A murder in dehradun! Looking for clues, trying to figure out the culprits, and just the usual whodunit. I mean AMID can be considered a lil different cuz of the setting of when the murder happened and how it happened, but still, I think this book has been written better than AMID. That's why I liked reading this book. Or it could be said that, the some of the characters have been fleshed out here.
This story is one of those underrated books. I picked it up after reading the blurb and the prologue, and the prose is simple and at the same time beautiful, that it compelled me to pick it up to buy. This indian author mentions of mental health in tact. The characters try to grapple with it as well, and the characters do act like some people in indian society. Despite all that, it gives such a hopeful ting at the end. I liked it because of the simplicity of the story, and I loved the characters, which were fleshed out, despite having a first-person viewpoint. I feel like I could visit this book, some time in the future.
I think I had big expectations from this book because of a book-influencer Kriti. Nevertheless, I liked the msytery. But it didn't hooked me like I wanted to be hooked. I liked the closed room mystery, which I felt like I could gave solved it as a reader. But how Shehnaz did when there was this fear of murderers, could be clapped for. Yes, this book felt a little mysterious to me, and I would recommend it to people who are fans of mystery genre and like Agatha Christie. But I gave it 3.5 stars, because the book felt like it didn't climbed upto my expectations.
Notes on Suicide is an essay written by Simon Critchley about the taboo topic-suicide. Taking in the suicide notes, the reasons against suicide and his own suicidal personality, he gives reasons against reasons against suicide (it is not mistake). What I mean is that the essay is for the suicide, and tells us that it should not be illegal. And we are not committing a crime by committing suicide.
