Not Made to Last by Jay McLean

As usual Jay's writing is addictive. This story has so many things happening - it's quite the roller coaster and complicated situation/story. I liked Olivia and Rhys, and I also liked their family and friends. There were many mysteries in this though and it took a long time for the answers, although we did get them by the end. There were a few things I was a bit confused about too, mainly the connections with Dom/Max/Olivia and the bits where we got a glimpse of the past, but it wasn't obvious when we switched back to the present day.
I think the strength and endurance of these characters is a big feature of this book and I really enjoyed the end and how things played out. This is a really hard book for me to review because I was hooked, but there was just so much happening. So this review probably doesn't make a lot of sense, my apologies lol. Also, EXCUSE ME WITH THAT BONUS CHAPTER NAME DROP!

This was a good read - I liked the characters, including the secondary characters and I enjoyed the relationship between Sabrina and Beau. The suspense with the goings on with the Federov's added a little something extra to the storyline which was great, as I've been loving mystery/suspense books lately. I liked how this one finished up, how the characters were mostly good at communication throughout the book as well. Would recommend.

What can I say? This book was amazing! I always love Sarina Bowen books, but this new foray into thriller/suspense novels was a huge win for her. I was absolutely hooked by this story. I think I smashed it out in like two days (around work etc). The start of the book grabs you, there's little bits and pieces that you go, huh, that's weird, what's happening here?
And then, as the story goes on, more and more pieces come together and before you know it, you're fully invested! I don't want to spoil anything, but there are a couple of mysteries that are happening in this - and when it all comes together, wow! There were many surprises, lots of bits to love and I really hope we get more of these kinds of books from Sarina.
I can't recommend this enough! 5 huge stars from me!

What Happened to Nina? by Dervla McTiernan

Wow. This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last. I was hooked straight away. Now, I will say this is very similar to the story of Gabby Petito - so I'm going to assume the author was inspired by her case to write this novel. So in saying that, I felt like I knew what would happen, but also at the same time, felt like I didn't know.
I felt this was fairly fast paced and it was interesting because whilst the initial prologue is Nina's POV, the rest of the book is from the POV's of both sets of parents, and of the detective investigating Nina's case. Highlighting how parents feel on both sides, how far a parent will go to protect their children or get to the truth (on both sides) and how much social media can influence views on stories and investigations that the public hear about.
I really enjoyed reading this, I was absolutely hooked and the ending wasn't what I expected, at least not entirely. The last part of the book really gets the ball rolling in terms of pace and the whole storyline coming together. Highly recommend.

Hooley dooley! This is my favourite book of the Saint View Strip series so far! I never ever thought that Augie would be a character that I could like. He started growing on me in the last book, but actually getting story - wow - Elle made him redeemable. I loved he and Ophelia together, and I also loved all the moments with Banjo and fam, and Eve and fam. What a gang all together. Oh and some fab Scythe moments in this one too. And the ending? That epilogue has me hanging for the next book. Oh boy! Highly recommend!

I've been enjoying this series and the mystery that has been running from book one definitely has me wanting to get to the bottom of it. With that running in the background of the story about Lyric and Zeph it adds a little something in terms of extra intrigue.
I really liked Lyric and how strong she was and how she stood up for herself, was a good Mum, protective of people she cares about and doing the best she can. Zeph was an interesting one too and there was a lot going on in his life that was really brought about by trauma. I also liked the developing relationship with Lyric and Lleyton & Kat, that played out much better that I expected.
The turns at the end re certain family members were quite something and overall I think this all played out nicely. And then that ending with Augie? I can't wait to read Killer Kiss.

I really like Eve and Boston - a great story and whilst not my fave in the Saint View world, I'm still keen to read more. The crossover time period with the Prison series threw me at first also, but I love the world and characters Elle has built, and will be diving straight into book 2 - there's more things I want to get the answers to and see how they unfold.

I enjoyed this one even though the main characters lack of communication was quite frustrating. Tristan and Bea are both great characters underneath it all. I wasn't really a huge fan of Flip at all, only some parts at the end, but I loved the other team members and Bea's girlfriends.I did find there was a bit too much sexy time in this one though. Def a lot of NSFW scenes. Which is fine I’m sure for many, but it was a little much for me personally. I'm also wondering if we're going to get more about some of the other characters in this series.
Would recommend.

It's been a long time since I've read IEWU but I absolutely loved that book and the way that CoHo wrote it - of course I had to get the follow up, just as I have to get any book that she releases.
I enjoyed this - whilst I didn't completely remember a lot of the fine details from the first book, this one still flowed really well and I truly enjoyed the parts that were more focussed on Atlas. I think he and Josh were the stars of this one for me. I loved their part of the story, more so than the Atlas and Lily parts. Don't get me wrong, those parts were great too, but I just loved the elements thrown in with Josh. Theo was a star too.
I think things played out really well in this and it was an easy read. Especially considering the content of the first book. I definitely wouldn't recommend reading this without having read IEWU, but if you have read that one, definitely don't overlook this. Would recommend.

Force of Nature by Jane Harper

This one took me a while to read because I've been very busy, but I think if it wasn't for that, I would've sped through it at a reasonable pace. I like Aaron Falk and this story was intriguing - it immediately hooked you and had you thinking about all the dynamics between the people on the hike and where Alice was, and what had really happened. I didn't see the ending coming, but it played out well. I look forward to continuing the Aaron Falk series.
