A spooky anthology filled with horror, be prepared to get scared~
I was actually planning on reading this for Halloween but it totally slipped my mind. Since I am still not able to a lot because of my knee I decided now was the right time. Plus, I was in the mood for some manga or comic.
This book contains 4 stories and I have written a small review for each of them.
Story 1: Miss L Next Door: 4.5 stars There is a rumour going around about Miss L, a teenage girl who committed suicide and whose father stuffed her (yes, really, wtf dad) and who is now even less happy with her appearance. She is hunting for pretty girls. Switch to the now in which we meet Tsukasa and her friend Koyoi. We see girls get hurt, is it Miss L or someone else? I quickly had a suspicion about what was going on with the girls, however I definitely didn’t see the twist coming at the end that was just WOW. The last panel was also great and I loved that it ended with that. Good story, interesting characters, and plenty of creepiness.
Story 2: Darkness Chii-chan: 4.5 stars WOW, this one was dark and spooky. A guy talks about a girl he used to play with named Chii-chan. She was a dark and scary girl, but our MC finds out it gets even darker when Chii-chan comes back. I loved this one so so much, it was all the way creepy, especially when we found out more about Chii-chan (though I would have liked to learn some more about her, why is so filled with grudges?) and more about who now lives in our MC’s old house. That ending, oh nope nope nope nope. Great story this was. Definitely will have me looking in dark corners.
Story 3: F.R.I.E.N.D: 4.5 stars WOW, Shiori maybe you should just have made normal friends… or um checked what the hell you put in your aquarium because this got very dark. Meet Shiori an insecure girl who just wants friends and befriends something creepy in her aquarium… little does she know the consequences though I could see them from afar and I was just screaming at her to get rid of whatever was in the aquarium. It got more and more creepy with each page and that ending, wow this mangaka knows how to end their stories in the best ways. Making you feel safe at first and then BOOM.
Story 4: Scissors woman: 4.5 stars Oh boy, this one was just twisty in all sorts of ways. I kept thinking x was happening, but then the truth would come out, and then another thing would happen. This was well written though given all we learn about the characters.. I wasn’t such a fan of them. It started with girl one, then girl two, and lastly girl three. The ending, well I guess sleep tonight won’t happen. Maybe I still can reset my mind, I got 10-11 hours to make my mind fluffy and happy again.

Een levensgevaarlijk plan by Geert Gratama, Maren Stoffels

Mijn eerste boek voor mijn VacayGust! Het spannende 3rde deel in de serie en Maren Stoffels heeft het weer gedaan hoor. Elke keer denk je, oh het is DIE, en dan vervolgends, BOEM, hier nog een leuke wending en een twist, en veel plezier. Ik heb echt zo genoten van dit boek en oh ja, hier is een van mijn reacties op een zeker scenario: OH SNAP. OH SNAPPITY SNAP. OMG. *gasp* Jep. Als je op dat punt komt zal je reactie vast ook ongeveer hetzelfde zijn. Ik vond het heerlijk, en ook leuk hoe Anders en Colin samenwerkten en een plan bedachten zodat Anders toch nog aanwezig kan zijn terwijl hij met zijn broer in Engeland zit. Het werd op punten lekker spannend en ik zat er dan ook helemaal in en kon ook niet ophouden met lezen. Leuk dat epiloog, kom maar door hoor Maren Stoffels!

Een enorm leuk boek over voor jezelf opkomen, vriendschap, en meer!
Ik keek al een tijdje uit naar dit boek en eindelijk had Bieb #4 hem dan! WOOP!
Debbie is mijn spirit animal, haha. Ik zeg ook steeds sorry, misschien moet ik ook een stoere meeuw hebben die me zegt dat dat niet nodig is… of wacht, mijn man zegt dat soort dingen steeds, misschien is hij mijn meeuw? proest
Maar een erg leuk boek over een duif die moet leren voor zichzelf op te komen en wat minder sorry te zeggen, echt haar plekje moet gaan claimen, en wat meer haar middelvinger op te steken naar de mensen en dieren die haar proberen weg te krijgen (vaak voor geen enkele goede reden). Ik heb gelachen om de woordkeuzes van Debbie en ik vond het geweldig om te zien hoe Mona (de meeuw) haar steeds aanmoedigde. Mona was echt een geweldige vriendin voor Debbie en ik hoop dat Debbie heel wat heeft geleerd~!

This was such a fun spin on things. Yakuza! Otome-esque game! A fiancee who is the villain... but is he really or is there something going on there? A sad backstory on how the MC got isekai-ed. Skills (and I am curious what our MC's skill actually is). Kick-ass battles (because yakuza and our MC (and her fiancee) is often targeted). And I am just rooting for our MC to find friends in this life, friends she can talk with.
I also loved the bonus extras. The dad who is more than willing to help his daughter make friends (and since he is a boss you can imagine what his plan is) and the guy who protects our MC.
Pretty art as well, the MC's fiancee *fans herself*.

Haha, she is really digging her grave at times in this one. XD But I like her and Adrian's dynamic and would love to see more of it. Plus, learn more about Adrian, yes he is a murderer but there is more to him.

OK, this was so cute and hilarious, I loved every bit of it. Mimi-chan is just adorable and I love how she is super strong (and so smooth and awesome, those scenes with the kidnappers or in the garden, oh my) but still gets flustered by things, for instance when the prince is saying sweet words. And then there are other characters, that queen, oh my gosh. I really enjoyed the art. Oh, and I love that Mimi has a mini-knuckle-thingie in her hair! That will come in handy.

*chuckles*Oh, I love this one! There is so much potential and story to be told. What if your reality maybe not be what you think it is? When our MC heads off to say goodbye to her sister she sees something horrific happening and from that point she sees some people in town have giant balloon heads, which is terrifying as heck, not to mention that a lot of things that seemed OK are broken down and in bad shape. I really enjoyed this read and I am curious what is next, because she has found an ally. I also need to know why people have balloon heads and why no one in town sees them or sees the reality.

The third volume and our MC is evolving... but maybe not in what she wants to be. At times she gets a bit on my nerves because if she would just act normally a lot of things wouldn't go this badly. I did like seeing her get closer to the countess, though of course it wasn't to last given everything. I am curious how this one is going to continue and if our MC is able to turn the genre around/stay alive.

For some reason I never added this one to GR? Because I recognised most of the volume. Mm. Oh, well. It wasn't a bad re-read. Actually quite fun to get back to this world and see what Honda is/was again. Plus, all the zombie stuff. I have been looking for a new zombie manga.
