First and foremost. I actually did not learn whatsoever how to slay vampires. If anything, I've realised that it would drive a woman absolutely mad to convince her friends and family that their neighbour is a serial killer.
Because that was what this was. Endlessly frustrating to read Patricia bending backwards and falling into depression because nobody would believe her.
Regardless, this was definitely a page turner. I prefer the audiobook over the book itself. Bahni Turpin did an amazing job reading it and kept me engaged and focused on the story while I was doing my menial tasks.
I consider this less of a guide and more of a desperate housewife being gaslit and how she dealt with it. Oh and the slaying of the vampire was kind of anticlimactic.
Still, had a lot of fun listening! It's a solid 4 from me.

I don't have much to say. I stumbled upon this and decided to pick it up because it the fun title and had fun listening to it each time I was doing a chore. The storytelling is fun and engaging. It's overall a cute story.

It is honestly a well-written ya book. It has a clear plot, it has good characters, it's got a great setting. I truly think this is one of the best ya books, which actually targets young adults, that came out last year.
However I feel like this could've easily been a standalone. There was a lot of back and forth in this one and I felt like we were just going round and round and at the end,the death of a God was quite anticlimactic. I would've liked to read more about Iris as she carried Dacre's head back to her own realm. I also wished we'd gotten more insight on Dacre and Enva's relationship and their perspectives in the book. From their past to the present.
By the end of the book, the story kind of fell apart, in my opinion

Love a good rep for himbos!!
A well written book and a good story but it was a bit too predictable and cliché at times. I loved the characterisations and setting.
It's a good story but I couldn't really get into it or enjoy it as much as I'd hoped.

This book is most definitely my favourite out of the three. It's a lighthearted detective novel with family fights and queer romance.
Sometimes I felt like the characters were too aware of themselves in the way they spoke about themselves. This isn't something bad per se but I don't always enjoy it.
The whole story came together pretty well starting from chapter 20. The last four chapters were so fun and so enjoyable especially the last chapter Will and Kim flirting. Truly a perfect ending to the series.
I had so much fun reading the series, it's lighthearted and it's easy to follow. I don't kine that it zws very predictable sometimes, like it did not take away from the fun. It also made realise I love queer pulp fiction mystery/ detective novels.
