What a cute book! This would be a perfect rainy day read, just make sure you have plenty of yummy snacks on hand because the food descriptions in this will leave you hungry! I really enjoyed the format of multiple short stories with a similar plot in each of an individual seeking the help of the Kamogawa Food Detectives to find a lost receipt they want to have again (like the storytelling of Before The Coffee Gets Cold and What You Are Looking For Is In The Library). Each story in the book is roughly 30 pages long so this reads real fast!

I picked this one up (via Kindle) because the author will be at a convention I am attending and I really loved it! Girls Weekend is fast paced as it follows the three POVs of the women on the girls trip and the romantic relationships they find themselves in on that trip. It was funny, while also hitting home on several of the problems the women are dealing with in their lives back home. I loved the world the author has created and I will definitely be checking out more from her!

I love Julie Murphy’s writing and this is just sadly a case of not being the right audience for the book. I know if I had read this as a teenager I would’ve adored it but right now, YA contemporary stories aren’t grabbing my attention.

I really enjoyed this one and I love that it is a standalone! The three-POV was used perfectly and I fell in love with the characters and magic through the storytelling. I am so happy with how this story ended too! While it was helpful to have a pronunciation guide at the beginning, I did still have difficulty with the names and understanding the meanings of the Welsh terms.

I am obsessed with this book! If the whole series was out now, I would be reading it all immediately. I loved the characters in this and was so happy it was dual POV because it really gave a full view of the plot and the building romance. The humor in this had me laughing out loud several times! I already want to reread this, but I'll just start my countdown for when book two comes out.
