A coworker recommended this title knowing I enjoy Sci-Fi novels and this was the perfect blend of comedy - with murderbot's internal narration breaking up tense moments - and action packed sequences of space exploration - which as a long time fan of Star Trek and Syfy's Dark Matter - I loved.

I probably have read this as a kid but like much I read as I kid that wasn't my diehard favorites I can't recall. This however was delightful and I could even feel my eyes getting wet towards the end of this award winner favorite. I also appreciated the Afterward from the author noting a change in the book since first published.

Pack Plus Three reads very much like a hallmark movie-  if hallmark did omegaverse novels. Pack Plus Three is a omegaverse (why choose) HEA-guaranteed low angst novel with none of the threats being overly dangerous or long-lasting. The relationships in the book (partly due to the genre) are very much love at first sight. There were some moments like
when Daisy’s apartment got broken into - that felt resolved too quickly or out of place as it didn’t come back later to mean anything significant. It merely proved to be a plot-pusher to get Daisy to move into the pack house.

 The ending
(a HEA heat)
is pretty common for the genre but it’s not overdone in this moment. It’s satisfying
as it solidifies Daisy’s relationship with Nate (the most contentious of the relationship due to his past trauma)
while still giving space to her relationships with Devon and Jeremy. It was fast in the way that there was no fast forward or any indication of their future besides the intimate ending. - which felt a bit abrupt.

However, the author’s books are standalones in a connected universe (like Jackson being on the same Hockey team as the Alphas from Melisa Huxley’s other book “Packed in the Penakty Box”) so it’s possible we’ll see more of Daisy’s new family in the follow-up books.

I've been on a light novel kick lately reading many of the "villainess" stories but I really enjoyed the spirit aspect of this book. It reminded me of The Golden Compass companions, and  other manga surrounding spirits and yokai. Within this premise, it was the classic case of female lead having underdevolped powers but otherwise competent if not for their worthless ex-fiancé.

This book surrounds the upcoming nuptials of Prince Arnold and Lady Rishe and those that Lady Rishe knew in her fifth life.

I really enjoyed the complex plotting of Rishe’s knowledge of Raul and her history as a hunter. The growing interactions between Prince Arnold and Rishe were so sweet too as both of them become comfortable asking more of the other.

Book 4 was probably my favorite one as of reading, with the relationship between Lady Harriet, Raul, Rishe and Arnold being at center stage.

From Villainess to Healer reminded me a lot of Sword Art Online - drawing on the main character’s love and incredible knowledge of the world they awakened in.

Charlotte, daughter of a high noble family, has been exiled from her home country after the crown prince has dissolved their engagement. Originally a Dark Mage, in her old life she was an accomplished MMO player who preferred the Healer class. So now calling herself Sharon - she decides to follow a new path in life and enjoy being an exiled noble now adventurer as a Healer.
