I’ll be honest…I was a little nervous about this one at first. It actually took me three different tries to get into the first chapter. But I fell in love with Lily and her world.
Don’t get me wrong, her friends were jerks (most of them anyways) and I got so mad at most of them, but the whole book had me smiling from ear to ear and that’s not something that happens often enough with books.

It felt like a Wattpad book 🫣 and I fear I’ve gotten over that phase. It was just disappointing to me. I understand the Plwase Doms are a thing and I would never kink shame anyone, but that was such a weird addition to this novella and the fact that the FMC just went along with it no questions asked was weird. I know it was a novella too but I expected a bit more. I don’t like when the characters have such tragic backstories and then they don’t get touched on. It just doesn’t make the book sit right with me.

I’ll be honest, the whole hate relationship they had before going to BC to see Adrien’s family was a turn off for me. It felt like the author was trying a bit too hard to have them hate each other when she didn’t need to. But the last 75% of the book had me cheesing, laughing, crying and downright giddy. And that trumped everything before.

Don’t get me wrong, this was super cute. I absolutely LOVED both characters.
There was just something missing. Not sure if the “romance” went too fast or if Ethan needed more character development, but there was something that just felt off.
Otherwise, the banter was top tier and made me laugh out loud multiple times.
