This book had me annotating my favorite lines, sobbing until the words blurred, and wanting to pick this book back up to be back in Speck Lake.

This is one of those books you read, and you fall in love with reading. The story and the journey Taylor takes you on is emotional and heartbreaking, but there are also beautiful lessons on healing and forgiveness. This book shows you the different ways people process grief, but also how hope shows up. I will not be the same after this book but in the best way.

This book has so many of my favorite tropes! Read this if you love:
-Latina MC
-childhood friends to lovers
-best friend’s brother
-small town
-dual timeline
-a book that will make you cry
adventurous hopeful inspiring reflective medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

This is book two in the Las Léonas Series. I loved A Caribbean Heiress in Paris so much, so I have been so eager to read book two. L

This is a sapphic historical romance taking place in Paris during 1889. This book follows Manuela and Cora, two incredibly vibrant artists.  Just as in book one, so much research went into this book. Manuela and Cora's relationship is a journey! There is so much at stake and drama it will keep you wanting to know how things will end.

If you like: age gap, found family, forced proximity, workplace romance, Latinx representation and queer representation

Then definitely pick this up!

This story follows Rome and Janelle during their two-week stay in Tulum, Mexico. Janelle’s sister and ex-boyfriend (yes, Janelle’s ex-boyfriend) are getting married and invited all their closest friends to spend an extra week in Tulum as they gear up for the wedding. Rome is a friend of the groom and has secretly admired Janelle from afar. When he sees Janelle trying to make sure everyone is happy and the toll it takes on Janelle, he decides to step in and be her peace.

There were so many things I adored about this book. I adored Janelle and Rome, Janelle’s friend group, the depiction of toxic loved ones, and putting yourself first. I was invested in Janelle and Rome’s relationship and seeing how the conflicts in the book would work out. I stood up until three in the morning to finish this book.

Janelle is one of my favorite characters I have read about. I loved learning more about who she is and her dreams. Also, how she wants to make sure her loved ones are happy is very relatable. Rome is top-tier boyfriend material. This man is ALL about Janelle. He knows what she needs, when she needs it, and does everything he can for her. All he wants is to see her happy. Their chemistry is strong and steamy. The things he does for her had me swooning!

I also love books with their own special touch. This book has a playlists, a wedding invitation, text messages, and pretty pages!
