I used to devour Agent Pendergast books one after the other. Then I stopped. I'm glad to be back on it. Preston and child weave quite a web. Always pay attention to everything in Agent Pendergast books. One detail in book 2 can be a main detail in book 7. What can I say without spoiling an Agent Pendergast book? Twins. Brazil. Death. Nazis. Used car dealerships. Long lost family.

I feel like I was inside a ping pong machine with all those twists and turns. I really thought I had, I figured out. Silly me! Connie is the caregiver to her mother, who has advanced alzheimer's. When a handyman from amlocal charity comes to help, both mother and daughter are smitten by the hamdsome and kind Paul. And then shit hots the fan... Caregiver or conwoamn? Handyman or murderer? It's probably one of my favorite Freida McFadden books so far. Ethan & Patricia are newlyweds going to look at a house. In the middle of nowhere.  In a blizzard... When they arrive, their estate agent is mia, and with the storm getting worse, they have no choice but to stay the night. The house belongs to Dr. Adrienne, a psychologist who went missing just three years ago. Even though Ethan is in love with the house, Patricia has a sickening feeling that something bad has happened there. She's right, and it's going to happen again.

Tom Kennedy & his son , Jake, move to a new house for a fresh start after the sudden death of his wife. They move to Featherbank but unbeknownst to them. Twenty years ago, there was a serial killer who abducted & killed five boys. Labeled The Whisper Man, he learned children from their bedrooms by whispering to them outside their windows at night. Even though he is now in jail serving his time, the legend still lingers. Now, when a boy in Jake's new class gets abducted under similar circumstances, the stories of The Whisper Man start up again. But how could it be if he's already in jail? And who will be next? I saw so many good reviews for this book. But as I started into it , I almost DNFed it because I felt it didn't give off the vibe I expected. But I stuck through it & I'm so glad I did because it picked up quite fast & was great all the way through.

It was a good read with twists and turns. However, I felt it was slow for me.

Let me start by saying I can see how people think Freida McFadden ripped this book off with her book of The Housemaid. It also makes me think since there's a turtle involved in this book, and I know that one of her (Freida McFadden) very recent books involves turtles somehow, too. But I can also tell the differences. I really enjoyed this book. You see her Mrs. Parish with her perfect family. Her perfect life. People are waiting on her hand and foot with anything. She wants with the scap of a finger, a perfect husband, the perfect children. Wouldn't it make you jealous? But is it really perfect? What secrets live behind closed doors?

When Ellie takes off to go study at the library, no one in her family knows it will be the last time they see her. But where did she go? Why didn't she come back? And why 10 years later does this little girl look exactly like her?

This is by far my favorite book in the series so far. I love that i'm finally seeing character development and just Auren becoming this bad bitch. I just love how the story is coming together. And of course, the scene was Slade was perfect (🌶).  With the end of this book, I am very curious to see how the story continues. And i'm very very curious how the fate of some characters are going to happen.

Where has this author been hiding? The first book I've read by him and certainly will not be my last. This book is full of twists and turns. Gage goes to the fair with his parents only to go missing. Everyone is a suspect. Everyone is being questioned and not trusted. And just when you think you know who did it, it's turned upside down.

I've always been a fan of Dainel Kallas medical thrillers. This one hit a little different, though. I felt it dragged on and was only interesting (to me) the last 20 chapters.
