Another winner from Linda Holmes. I loved her characters as well as the way Laurie wrestles with what type of relationship she wants, and how much of herself she can share. Excellent vacation read.

Read this on vacation in one day. I  not a huge magical realism fan and delayed reading this for years despite hearing how great it is. So happy I picked it up at a book sale!

Page turned that is both nothing like anything else I’ve read *and* squarely in the niche of the American domestic novels I love. Really fantastic.

Really vivid and affecting.

This collection is so incredibly well written, and also very tough to read—dark, sad, angry.
