I read online to go into this book completely blind and I am so glad I did. I had no idea what was coming and truthfully that made this book so good. (Truthfully I don’t think I could give you any tidbits about the plot without explaining the whole thing.) The concept is unique and I enjoyed the way the story was told. About 30-40% of the way through I kinda pieced together the ending (but honestly wasn’t sure I was anywhere near right) and the ending kinda dragged a bit, which is why I only gave it 4.25/5⭐️. Overall a really great read that I will be thinking about for months to come.

I adored this book from the first page to the end. The writing was beautiful and the storylines flowed well. Parts of this book had me emotional and one point I had to close the book for a second and take a moment before I continued on.

Overall, this was a very solid read! I listened to the audiobook while working out. The story had me hooked fairly quickly on and caused me to work out for longer periods than I anticipated (never a bad thing for me). Throughout the book there are twists and turns that keep you guessing. The relationship between the members of the Darker family has so many layers and the author did a great job at peeling all the secrets back but by bit. I was a bit disappointed by parts of the ending, but I will say I didn’t see any of it coming! I did let out some choice words as the ending unraveled out of shock which is not something that happens often while reading. 

A few trigger warnings: description of nonconsensual activity, some gory descriptions, no animals are harmed, death
