The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Did not finish book. Stopped at 88%.
Multiple plot holes. Suddenly thrusted into a fantasy plot with no background information and no clue what the fuck is going on. Some weird sexual harassment at the start done by the love interest that’s just glossed over? A bit too fast-paced for a supposed political fantasy book. Too many characters with 2D personalities. Very cliché. Had to force myself to read.

Manifestation and the laws of attraction. With every chapter they would rewrite the same paragraph over and over again. 50% of the book is covered by peoples profiles and their professions. They say “studies shows” but never cite the actual studies. It gives you the message but the actual delivery of it is shit.

Very informative. Very easy to read. Good structure. However, I kind of knew most of the stuff written, but that just might be me. Definitely recommend it, even if you're not planning on being rich.

Easy rear. Bit of an unlikeable main character.

Definitely worth the read. Very slow pace and it's hard to latch onto her stream-of-concieousness writing style. But other than that, this book made me realise a lot of things about myself.

Realistic representation of an authoritarian government. Excellent use of torture, and mental manipulation done well and realistically. Didn't really like the romantic relationship, no chemistry and tension. Would've still been a good book without it, though I do see the need of it.

It felt rushed. Should have added more depth to characters.

It's something 3rd class me would write.
