Clear and simple, without gendering bodies. The spread on internet and social media feels a little shoved in and incongruous, but also isn't wrong.

Super intriguing, a social history of the united states through food, without any shying away from the realities involved. And the back matter is so detailed! ::swoon::

A solid book, not going as emotionally deep as I prefer but honestly I think that's why I'm going to be able to hand it to my 9 year old who doesn't like emotional heaviness. A sweet bond between grandparent and grandchild, too.

Very sweet, with a great amount of Spanish mixed in. Unfortunately not quite musical enough for my storytime, but a great show of communal support, which I appreciate.

I want this to be good, i want it so badly. But it's stilted and doesn't ring true to how children behave. Hopefully it'll pave the way for more and better books along the same lines.

I wish this had all made a little more sense, but it is a nice fairy tale format, with three impossible tasks and everything.
