I had a really hard time finishing this book, if it was any longer I likely wouldn’t have. I was willing to look past the main character Thiago being so boring and insufferable because I thought this was going to be an entertaining tale of a haunted Alexa or Google Nest or what have you. That plot dropped off randomly about 30% through and then from there it just gets unnecessarily gory and nonsensical. :(

Haha, what the fuck?

A book of a bunch of professional gaslighters

I’m sobbing

It was super nostalgic to read this

I don’t even know where to start with this. That was not what I was expecting. All I knew going in was the classroom setting / child narrator (teachers pet) and that things are mysteriously disappearing in the class. I think that’s all you should know too. It’s for sure a slow burn but it pays off. My jaw dropped.
(Also can I just say awwww Dom?! What a sweetie pie! And Neil is a really great dad and thank goodness for that.)

An easy and uncomfortable read. A bit redundant at times, not sure if that’s entirely due to translation or not. Also, the essay at the end??? I guess I should have seen it coming lol.
