Honestly I would have given the book 5 stars but I was slightly frustrated and confused at points while reading. Cannon is very “I’m not good enough” the whole book up until Persephone stands up for him against his dad. I got so confused at times like when in one chapter she says things like “I love you I don’t want anything to change” and then the next chapter he’s all “when this is over I’m going to be so sad” bullshit he kept saying…. Did I misinterpret what “I love you I want nothing to change” means?! Also for someone so “closed off” and doesn’t want to get attached or have her fall in love he sure did a lot of cute shit.

This book was so cute. I loved how patient he was with Rory through the whole book. He knew what she wanted without her having to say it out loud it was too sweet.

What the actual fuck is mightn’t that’s was one of my least favorite things ever. Also I hate the whole “I’m leaving to protect you“ third act breakup bullshit.

I liked the book but I really wish we could have had more depth to the characters. River and dev are fucked up from a childhood that we heard like nothing about. Which is fine but it’s just annoying that it was brought up all the time have they have trauma but they never actually unpack it with the group. Also what really happened with her dad and their friend?!

Huey… seriously that’s the ugliest name ever but moving on.

I felt cheated at the end honestly. They went from talking about getting engaged at their first Christmas to 8 months later… why didn’t we see the first Christmas and engagement or even when she told them she was pregnant? I feel like all that should have been written about not some stupid interview.

3.5 ⭐️

Honestly I get why she was upset with everything that happened but she acted like they intentionally just ignored her when everything was going on… she never gave them the chance to explain what actually happened on their end. Then she’s all can’t you see why I would be upset… yeah but can’t you see why THEY are upset?!

FMC kind of bugged me a bit because she literally couldn’t take care of herself… I get grieving and depression but still she literally constantly relied on someone else to take care of her the whole book.

I really don’t understand why dickhead step daddy wanted to replace her dad so bad? Did I miss something lmao like the man took over his whole life… why? And why not actually ya know get rid of him… instead of just have him taken? Weird.

Idk why her brother was so cool with leaving her with a bunch of strangers right before her heat.. like… I would not be leaving my little sister behind even if she said she wanted to because she was in pre-heat that bitch wasn’t in the right head space to be making decisions. Especially about people who literally kidnapped her and locked her in her room.

I liked the story I just feel like it would have worked better if she didn’t immediately go into heat and just start fucking them all. Like it should have had more build up to be more enjoyable for the reader.

Honestly I love the beginning of this book so much the middle is a little annoying and slow to me for some reason. I also don’t get why she bonded with North before Gabe or Atlas I mean he was a dick to her while they have both been on her side longer. That was just confusing to me but that’s fine. I get why it wasn’t atlas because of the drama with his dad but still.
