Not good. Not bad. Really cringe. Don’t think I’ll ever reread it or read any of the others in the series. It’s more high school than college vibes to me. I didn’t think homecoming was a big deal in college… at least not to me so it was weird that it was all focused around the homecoming game instead of did like the championship or whatever big rival game they would have.

Eh it was a sweet story but way too long and the third act break up was unnecessary. Also the writing was so immature at the start I almost DNF’d it got better but there were still moments where I was like… these are not 12 year olds.

I wish we went more into the football side of things with her helping coach like the science where she storms into the practice yelling at coach about the plays… why didn’t that GO anywhere.

Gotta be real honest half the time I have no clue what is happening. Idk if I’m just not comprehending properly or if the way this book is written is just fucking with my head but I am having to reread pages and go back to try and connect things because I’m so fucked.

Also I’m just straight up confused because there’s these half stories where we have so many pieces of information but it’s just not meshing together.

I know people hate this so disclaimer the MMC hooks up with girls through this whole book that are not the FMC. Well mostly one girl is constantly mentioned but still… she’s a cunt too.

I wish we could get some goddamn context on some stuff because I feel like I’m reading half a story right now and as soon as I forget something that is still not fully revealed it’s brought up again and I get frustrated all over again.

I do be loving the gossip girl vibes though. If I could rewrite this book I’d go team Ricky…

I sobbed reading parts of this book. It was truly so heartbreaking when he relived the story of his brother.

I wish sawyers mom could have gotten over herself.

I’m glad Bianca changed a little bit toward thEe end. I still wish she would stop blacking Dylan for Liam though. And Cole finally woke tf up about his feelings. I’m glad he opened up to her about his brother and then stood up to her mom. I’m glad sawyer got the help she needed.

However, I did not know that religion was such a big thing in the book. But at the same time it almost seemed like it got pushed aside. Don’t worry I didn’t hate it got pushed to the side I almost DNF bc I thought it would make her be holier than thou towards everyone. I think it’s weird that it did just kinda disappear after they started dating fr. Also her singing never went anywhere and I kinda wish it did.

As for the next book, yeah I’m not going to read it just because DUI and jail time on top of amnesia… not my thing. I could get over everything if it weren’t for the amnesia but I hate that trope. It’s too frustrating.

The plot was really good I thought but the book was too short for how complicated the plot was. This needed to be a series or even just a longer book. Everything felt rushed to me. They didn’t get “together” until ~50% and then from there it was like back to back shit show. It would have been an easy 4.5 stars if it was a series where everything was more built up. The ending especially. That felt super rushed.

This book and the plot would have been 5 ⭐️s if it weren’t for the drugging scene to get pictures and videos to spread around the school.

Also idk why Peyton was such a bitch from the start. It’s annoying. Literally everyone in the book is borderline insufferable. The stepmom the dad. Her sister dad. Kingstons dad. The guys at school. Like every character outside the main 5 are literally atrocious. This author is obsessed with rape and it’s weird. I’m not talking dubcon,or cnc I’m talking straight up rape. Traumatic shit. The end of this book, the drugging scene (it’s bothers me ab this bc what you find out in book2), the way her dad openly talks about how women are basically meant to be fucked and do nothing else. Like the man literally tells his daughters they can’t expect a man to be faithful??? It’s annoying af. Also just the overall predatory behavior by the two dads is disgusting through this and the second book. ESPECIALLY the end of book 2.
