The art is beautiful but it didn’t feel very rewarding and I don’t feel compelled to look for the next in the series. I am, however, interested in checking out the earlier books in the series as I’ve heard they’re better than this one :)

I wish this was better, there was so much opportunity for criticism of the U.S.’s actions in the Middle East which quite literally caused this story to happen but any criticism seems, in my opinion, neutralized by the acknowledgements where it thanks the soldiers who “protect” the United States by going to fight in the Middle East. Who were they protecting?

Everything in this is so fucking good. Especially once Barton goes dead, the comic gets so interesting because I’m not aware of any comic that does that well, though it would be cooler if Barton hadn’t gotten a hearing aid at the end.

Another four star rating. I wish I had something like this when I first started reading theory. It is informative, accessible, and gives numerous recommendations for continued reading. I also really like the author's points about continued attempts to defer labor onto other things, whether other people or artificial intelligences which we create solely to work. Overall, it brought a lot of good information and, even though I was familiar with most of it and didn't bring a lot to the table for me individually, I am glad I read it.

Pretty good, but there’s a line in there talking about how Palestine needs to take a backseat to the border issues which definitely didn’t age very well considering how there is a current genocide going on. Other than that I think it was incredibly informative, I really liked the chapter on free trade.

It’s a beautiful portrayal of DID and it’s cool to see the acceptance of their illness. The art is unbelievably beautiful and I can’t believe how well it mixes the three styles together.

Still quite a lot of unneeded sexual violence, but the story at the end called “The End” was one of the best things I’ve read, definitely worth checking out.

It’s fine, I think there’s better stuff out there. Honestly, it kind of feels like paint by number “collapse of society.”

I heard how good this run was but was recommended to read Ennis’s other Punisher run, I chose this because I was able to get it at a crazy low price, both this and the second volume, and I really liked it. There is a lot of needless sexual violence which is completely unneeded, that’s why this isn’t a five star. I don’t think needless sexual violence to “show how evil a character is” adds anything to the story besides shock value.
